Color:Black The Taidea angle guide is a great way to train yourself in developing the ability to consistently sharpen a knife at the same amount of degrees. Depending on the width of the blade, the guide will allow you to initiate the stroke at approximately 15-20 degrees. It can be used on a flat water/oil stone or a honing/sharpening steel of any type. After practicing with the device, one will eventually develop the ability to free hand the stroke with amazing accuracy

Doesn't fit well on any blade I've tried it on, leaves material on the stone which gunks it up faster requiring you to stop and clean the stone before the blade is even starting to take a worthwhile edge.

It helps you get the knack for a consistently correct angle BUT the idea falls apart a bit when it comes to the curve and taper part of the knife and if your knife has an excessively narrow (slicer/boner) or wide (cleaver) width. It will also mark up the sides of your knife which may bother some who are obsessed with the cosmetic appearance of their $150+ Japanese knives--I could care less.

Its Okay
This works OK, no flaws but after a few passes I went back to the old fashion way, Find the knife angle by feel and hold firmly. It's probably a good aid for someone who is starting to learn to sharpen.

useless item totally USELESS!! not even worth 1 star
if you have regular kitchen knives it will not work- first its to deep and the blade does not stick out, not dinner knives but cooking knives. of all the knives i put in it only 1 was wide enough to stick out. the device does not hold the blades. all the blades tested fell out of it, even a hunting knife, maybe its for 1 type of knife and they are selling it as the must have tool for all.. that said sell something useless for a few bucks that most cant use, they got a few bucks that most will blow off and not worry about a refund.. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

Good for beginners
Pro:Works really well for a standard 8" chef knife, and I would suggest it to any newcomers to whetstone sharpening.ConThe angle isn't good for paring or utility knives, it could me my fault for not reading the full description, but I'm not sure

Messed up my stone.
I got this with my sharpening stone, but ended up not using it much because it makes little indentations on the stone itself, requiring a re-flattening of the stone itself. It was great for initially setting the angles on my knives, but i quickly discontinued it's use.

Nice product for the money
I am new to knife sharpening and needed a guide to help me get used to what angle to hold the knife during sharpening. This product does just that, but the only complaint I have, is that it's not long enough for the larger knives. It needs to be another half inch longer to cover more knife length, then it would be perfect. It is really easy to attach and detach from the knife and super easy to use. If you are new to knife sharpening, I recommend this angle guide.

This is a great concept, but it is not practical for sharpening a pocket knife, the angle that it creates is about a 30 degree angle by itself. Depending on the size of the blade (steak knife vs. Meat cleaver) the angle will change and will change the complete angle of the blade. I am not saying it is a bad product, or cheaply made. It is well built just does not meet MY needs for sharpening blades.
