Great hardware but the documents on use and pinout lack the pin numbers for the clock and user button and how to use them

CIRCUIT BOARD DID NOT WORK
The reason I bought this board was the flexibility of accessing the FPGA's IO pins. Due to my schedule, I did not get to play with it until a month after it was delivered. Hence, the return period is closed after 30 days. Here are the problems with the board.1) The GCLK1 (pin 26 of FPGA) is not 50MHz as advertised. It's only 2MHz as measured by a digital oscilloscope even with a simple pin to pin routing out of the GCLK1 for monitoring. See attached photo.2) Something is definitely wrong with the FPGA. I used a simple TFF to divide the GCLK1 by two. But it did not behave the way I expected. See attached photo.3) I read out the original POF file from the chip when it was delivered. I saved the original POF file and was able to reprogram the FPGA with the original POF back on the chip. It worked for a few times but it quit after that.Recommend to check out the board during the 30 days of return period. I guess the old adage "You get what you paid for" is definitely true in my case. I will think twice before buying this item again.

Not a Good Board to Learn On
I bought one of these boards to play around with, along with the programmer. It works for what it is. But they seem to be marketing this as a learning board, and it is not really suitable for that purpose. To really learn how to design circuits in an FPGA, it helps to start with a board that has more user inputs and outputs (buttons, switches and LEDs -- regular, tri-color and 7-segment), and that has a built-in programmer/JTAG port. This has one user input button, no switches and 8 user-addressable LEDs. It requires an external (and extra) programmer. And for FPGA boards, the PMOD interface has become the industry standard for adding functionality to educational boards. This board has no PMOD ports.If you are looking for a board to learn on, this is probably not the board for you. Spend a little more money and get a Terasic DE10-Lite which has a similar chip.If you know a bit about FPGAs and, like me, wanted to play around with an inexpensive MAX10 device, this is a reasonable board to start with. Lots of IO and not much to get in your way. The good is that it is a modern chip -- unlike some of the obsolete Spartan 6 boards people are selling for around the same price. Quartus seems to be a reasonable develoment environment. But I think I might have been better off with the DE10 Lite myself as it has a much more powerful version of the MAX10 and enough IO for my needs (but still no PMOD ports).

Works well. Can be programming issues if lots of the GPIOs are connected to something.
Works really well. The only complaint is if there is circuitry connected to a large number of GPIOs, it can get hard to program (fails programming frequently) when programming the FLASH. If you program just the FPGA (which is lost when you power it down) that seems to work OK.

Very Good FPGA MAX 10 Board
The media could not be loaded. Very good board, worked as expected. plenty of I/O's very good for development.student and professional could use this board. you need a separate programmer which yo could get from the same seller at cheaper price. all in all very good product.

wasted money
I bought this board a couple of months ago, just to introduce myself to FPGA.Recently, I finally found the time to play with it and to blink LEDs.Though, the problems started right away. Quartus just failed to configure the device.After some time MOSFETs got fried and the board is done now.The end.

Good way to get started.
Easy to use with Windows10 laptop. Had problem with regulator overheating when using external supply (7.5V) and had to return the unit. New unit came quickly and works well with laptop USB supply.Documentation has some errors but it is not difficult to figure out. I only used the RAM based configuration so I am not sure how much can be saved permanently. However it is useful that it retains the original self test configuration after power up. Connectors are installed which is not shown in the picture on Amazon.
