This fell apart on my first attempt to put it together. Instructions terrible. Tried to find online instructions on how to put it together, nothing available. Amazon said they would try to organise a refund but lots of work for me to get it back to them and they deny having anything to do with the product. They just sell it and take the money but they can’t help and they can’t send a replacement. Enormous waste of my time. No instructions of any use and the device just fell apart instantly. Worse still Amazon insists I give it a one star as there is no ability to give zero stars or negative stars. Has wasted my time for no value whatsoever. I am not getting all my money back as had to buy batteries for this useless device and can’t use them on a replacement as Amazon says “they don’t actually sell the item so can’t provide a replacement”. I will delete my Amazon account given they are denying being the actual seller despite taking my money

Initially, I really liked this otoscope/opthalmoscope. It was very easy to use. Great lighting and magnification. However, tonight went to use it today and it wouldn't turn on. I changed the batteries (which were also new) and still nothing. It's really frustrating that it only worked a little over 30 days (37 days to be exact) which is outside the return window. ETA: I would also like to add that immediately after writing thr above review, the base became very hot (120+ degrees when measured by my husband using an infrared thermometer). When checking the batteries with a multimeter, the new set I just put in measured less than 1.2 volts (what they are meant to be measured at is 1.5). They were in there less than 5 minutes. The initial set of batteries was measured at 1.4 volts and had been in the case since initial use less than 1 month ago. There is clearly something defective with the switch. I would NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT.

Bought this in September just for it to not work 2 months later. Literally my second time using it. First time was to do an ophthalmoscope video exam. This second time was to do an otoscope video exam. The head of the attachment would no longer thread and the additional head piece for the otoscope would not work. I’m in NP grad school and purchased because seemed like a budget friendly option. However, it’s a waste of money. Just go for better quality. I had to do a physical exam and literally had to tape down both attachments where it threads and the head piece and even then I had to hold it at a certain angle to make it work. Just sucks. Now I have to go purchase another. If you buy this, you risk it not working especially when you will need it.

I was required to purchase this item for a nursing class. I should note right off there were additional expenses as I had to replace the eye chart with a two sided eye chart, which cost about $8, and could easily be remedied by the brand Zyrev, by printing a Snellen chart on one side and a Rosenbaum on the other, instead of what they do, which is print their brand logo on the other side (useless feature). There is also another pocket card with instructions which is blank on the other side, another missed opportunity to include a Rosenbaum chart that is often required in nursing school. Also, $11 for C-sized batteries which are required for operation but not included. So the total cost was increased by ~$20 to meet my needs. Aside from that, I was pleased with the function of the device. I was concerned that I would not be able to see anything after reading other reviews, but I wasn't about to drop $300+ on a better-rated device. I was able to visualize the tympanic membrane of the ear and the nares. I observed red flash in the eye exam, but was unable to follow it to visualize the retina, nor was I able to visualize the macula. I think you pretty much have to buy this if you need it for a course. Unless you are going to be an ENT specialist or have some eye-specific focus in your future, you won't want to invest in the pricier models.
