SL800 8” in-wall w/ backbox: can it be used under a covered patio (ie high moisture environment)?

It is built strong and sealed but its still a wood box laminated from pressed wood so i would still seal up the exterior of the opening where you plan to put it to further protect it, as for the woofer itself, i dont think its made from a polimer but a strong paper cone so that may not stand up over time but it will if its not getting directly bombarded by nature rain or snow.

Is this subwoofer self powered or does it need an amp?

Is the back box fire rated? Will it pass code that requires fire rated back boxes? What are the standards?

Although the back box was built to fire rated specs, there is no certification.
