How to reset the rotary encoder values
I have seen complaints that it is not possible to change the values of the rotary encoders over MIDI (i.e. transmit data back to the x-touch mini). This is absolutely possible, although the Behringer documentation doesn't seem correct on this point. The following is how to do it in standard (non-MC) mode. For example, you can change the value of the leftmost controller by sending a value between 0-127 to controller 1 over MIDI channel 11 (which is the default channel for the unit). The rotary controls receive MIDI controller values 1-8. This method also sets the LEDs accordingly. The button LEDs also don't respond to transmitted MIDI data as documented in the Behringer guide. To turn them on, use notes 8-23 with velocity 1 (again over channel 11). To turn them off - same note numbers, velocity 0.In MC mode the controllers transmit incremental data (so there's no concept of changing the values by sending MIDI to the unit). The LED rings don't light up by default, but they respond *on channel 1* to controllers 48-55 to MIDI values in the following way:0 = all off1-11 = single16 = all off17-27 = pan left to right32 = all off33-43 = fan left to right48 = all off49-54 = center fan out...then the pattern repeats from value 64. Not all of the LEDs are used in MC mode - it looks like it's set up to represent numbers 0-10 (only 11 out of the 13 LEDs are used).Hope this helps. So far I'm pretty happy with this thing - planning to use it to control my Pure Data patches.

Good Feel. Portable.
Solid feel, easy to connect with Logic and Live, portable, USB powered. This replaced an old NanoKontrol that died on me after very little use.

Great Lightroom Photo Editing tool
This is my 2nd Behringer Xtouch Mini. I use these in combination with the free software LR2MIDI, and program various Lightroom functions, tools, and presets to the MIDI controller nobs and buttons. This has greatly reduced the use of the mouse, speeds up editing, and allows for real-time viewing of the adjustments when using the nobs. When using the mouse to make these same adjustments it is difficult to ensure that your mouse is hovering on the correct slider, so that your focus is removed from the image. With the Midi controller, you view the image and turn the dial until the desired affect is attained.I wish I had discovered that this would work with Lightroom years ago, I could have saved many hours of editing work, and also saved the wear & tear of my wrist from using the mouse so much.

Nice size and build quality.
I'm using the X Touch Mini as an alternative to much higher priced equipment on the market dedicated to digital photo editing. When paired with midi-to-keyboard shortcut software, it works great with photo editing software. The controls can be tailored to individual workflow. Programming of all controls is highly flexible, and reprogramming is easy. Editing time is shortened and becomes more efficiently used. A set of legs or angled base would enhance my working conditions. The X Touch Mini laying flat on the desk is OK, however, having the controls facing towards me would be even better and more comfortable during a long editing session.

Great solution, great value for money
I have been waiting for something like this. I might be late to the game as the product has been out for a while, but I can see the endless possibilities. It might be an exaggeration to say that my workflow has been efficient as I am getting used to the controller, but I have seen an improvement in lightroom. It is actually quite easy to assign the commands to each of the buttons.Quality-wise I would say that it is great, though plastic, but it is still great to the touch in my opinion. The controller is quite small, but not tiny. It does allow me to place the controller, laptop, mouse, mousepad, charger, and cables in my bag without a hassle.I would purchase the controller again if I had to.
