Game-changer! All the perks of a sponge without the product waste
I’ve been using the classic Real Techniques orange sponge for years — it blends beautifully and feels great on the skin — but I always had one major complaint: it absorbed so much of my makeup. I could actually see my foundation disappearing into the sponge every time I used it. It just felt like I was throwing money away. This sponge is everything I loved about the original but so much better. It has the same softness and bounce that makes blending easy, but it doesn’t soak up nearly as much product. I couldn’t believe the difference the first time I used it. My foundation actually stays on my face where it belongs, not trapped inside the sponge. The finish is smooth, natural, and flawless — exactly what I want, without wasting expensive makeup. If you’ve ever loved using sponges but hated the product waste, give this one a try. I’m seriously never going back to the old one. LOVE!

Great for blending
Great product, perfect for blending the foundation.

Great little brush
I didn't really like the sponge. It seemed to just wipe things around--but at least the make-up doesn't soak into it. The brush however is great--I actually use it on my eyebrows and I love it.

Saves money & gives even skin texture!
The sponge applicator works well. It does say foundation. Also helps apply make up evenly. This is the second time I have bought this kit.

Not great going back to my brush
It’s really just ok. It’s basically a coating on top of the sponge. Doesn’t really blend and you end up using the regular part of the sponge so it still soaks up your makeup. I prefer a brush. The hype is not worth this sponge.

Great Idea
At first I thought this was a cool idea. It's supposed to memic using your fingers to apply your foundation. You don't get it wet like The other sponges. The other sponges, high or lower priced, just don't work for me, so I thought I'll try it. You can actually see fingerprint swirls on the sponge which the sponge part is the same material as most sponges, the application area looks like a thin layer of plastic. I'll give the idea 5 stars, but it just doesn't apply my foundation evenly. It's probably me. I went back to using my fingers/hands to apply my foundation.

Worked Great
They were surprisingly really good. I was able to use it for almost 2 months before having to replace it. Definitely recommend. It also helped me save so much make up.

Disappointing & Bizarre Design - HARD PASS!
Normally, I love Real Techniques and can’t say enough good things about their makeup brushes and makeup application products. However, this set was a huge disappointment. The Makeupsaver Sponge is just weird—it doesn’t mimic finger application at all as advertised. Instead, it has a strange, almost elephant-skin texture that feels nothing like a fingertip and doesn’t blend well. It somehow takes makeup off instead of helping it stay on.Equally odd is the color scheme of these applicators. I assume they were going for some kind of skin tone, but fell short. The set lacks any warm tones, making it an unappealing, ashy brownish-grey, that just appears to look dirty, and not something that you'd want to use on your face. The one redeeming quality is that the brushes work well for liquid and cream foundation, but the sponge is such a bizarre fail that it ruins the set for me. Between its off-putting texture and unappealing look, this is a big NO. There are plenty of other great Real Techniques brush sets—just steer clear of this one. Disappointed!I'd love to return it, but I made the misstep of actually trying it.
