I maybe shouldn’t have been seduced into buying what appeared to be one of the best range finders out there.Having compared with a friend’s gadget over £200 cheaper I think the extra cost is hard to justify.Great gadget. Small and easy to use but..

A bit more expensive but the stabilisation feature for an old git is more than worth the extra.

Simple, accurate and highly usable. Plus Amazon allows you to pay on monthly installments.

Bought this in Feb 2020 for use on a golf trip to Turkey in early March. It was expensive but got great reviews and came with a 5yr warranty. When I arrived for trip the device wouldn’t power on. I friend gave me a spare battery to try and this seemed to resolve the problem. Returned from the trip and we went straight into lockdown so this was then used sparingly until this year.Started playing again in March 2021 after lockdown and had the same problem of the unit not powering on. Bought some new batteries and this did not solve the problem. I could get it to switch on occasionally but it was dead most of the time. I contacted Nikon and they told me to return this for inspection. I returned this with the original Amazon receipt.On receiving this they informed me that this was out of warranty by a few weeks and that I would need to pay for the repair. They sent me a link to the warranty info on their website. Unbelievably the link was very clear that the product was covered under a 5 year warranty! I replied to point this out and the Nikon representative responded to say that this was their “standard response” where an item was returned without a warranty card (which they hadn’t asked for anyway!). They then agreed it was covered and would repair it free of charge. This was 5 weeks ago and the status of the repair on the website remains as “awaiting parts”. So quite a few rounds now post-lockdown without a range finder.This item comes at a premium RRP of £499 and I honestly thought I was buying into superior quality and customer service when I bought this. All in all I have been extremely disappointed with this purchase, and won’t buy Nikon again when it comes to replace this (if I ever get it back!).

Excellent - easy to use, works perfectly

The Nikon Coolshot Pro Stabilized is not as accurate as Nikon would have you believe . . .you have to take a number of measurements . . .and then rely on your Garmin Approach to check the distance . . .save yourself a lot of money and nail bitting on the golf course . . .buy a Garmin Approach . . .

stabilisation is good sometimes you have to check it is not reading behind flag although it locks on recommended if you want easy stabilisation
