Peugeot - Elis Sense u'Select Electric Pepper Mill - Adjustable Grinder - Battery Powered - Blue LED Light, Stainless Steel, 20 cm

I dithered over this set for ages based on the high cost but finally clicked the button and the set arrived without issue. Having had them for several months now here is my opinion in case it helps potential purchasers. Quality is fantastic, these are clearly well-made precision items. Despite lots of use they still look as good as they did when they first arrived. They hold a fair amount of salt and pepper-corns so you don't have to refill too often. Battery life is fairly good (good job too considering how many batteries you need) and I have only had to replace the batteries in the pepper mill once despite a lot of use (I like a lot of pepper) over the 6-months or so I have had them. One small issue is the fact you have to tell guests/family to press the button rather than the usual twist. Yes, it happens - I had a friend of mine twist the thing with salt rocks spread everywhere so now I simply find myself telling people to press the button, easier than picking up all the salt! The lights are a nice touch - seems a gimmick at first but works really well and especially so when you have less than optimum lighting (candles etc.,). Overall I am very happy with the purchase and found them to be worth the relatively high cost.

Both Mills are superb quality and are presented in a foam padded display box. Inserting the batteries is a bit fiddly and make sure you get the polarities facing in the right direction - it's easy to get them wrong (as I found out). The extra salt and pepper containers are a great addition and they make it easy to fill the mills. Older versions of these Peugeot Salt and Pepper Mills had narrower necks which made it difficult to fill without spilling pepper corns and salt all over the place. They are very touch sensitive so be careful when handling because you can set them off before getting to your plate. Overall they are superbly well engineered and look great.

It took a bit of figuring out to get this put together but once that’s done, the mill works like a dream. The fact that there are different sizes of grind make this a joy to use if you have a selection of peppercorns to work with. It looks very elegant but you have to be careful how you pick it up as it is easy to activate it inadvertently. I am very pleased with my purchase

So I thought I was imagining that I did something wrong, watched 3 videos, one of their official how to change batteries and two others promoting the product. All simple in the video no issues..they slide the comparment out and it all stays in tact. I have now opened two of these mills and two screws and a spring went flying and I have no idea what to do with it because the official vids just show a simple put the batteries in and go. Absolute rubbish.

I decided to invest in this product and end my irritation with the cheaper models, I was buying amchines for life I told myself. They are wonderfully engineered and with one exception fulfilled my dreams. The exeption? The salt grinder has wonderful searchlights to ilumunate the food that is being enhanced but the lights on the pepper grinder do not work. What a shame, one flaw in such a wonderful product.

In daily use my Elis has not missed a beat thus far and I found it invaluable when it came to incorporating freshly ground pepper with one hand while simultaneously stirring the dish with the other. Impossible with manual grinders, obviously. It will grind pepper corns from fine to coarse effortlessly though not to the fineness of powder. Its neat little black tray looks smart on the table and keeps bits of pepper from messing up surfaces. Trivia: weighty due to steel construction and the 5 AAA batteries needed for power. It comes with alkalines but I use rechargeables which seem to do the job perfectly adequately. The stainless steel body is easily wiped clean and still looks as good as new even after a year's use. I bought one a year ago and this is my second to give away as a gift to a friend who loved the one I had. Considering the cost of this item there is no greater recommendation I suppose.

Best I have ever brought

Having bought many electronic salt & pepper grinders and have them all break or not work correctly, I decided once and for all to splash out on a decent set. The quality is far superior to any other I have used before. Nice weight to them and the salt and pepper come out to perfection. Various settings allow different coarseness. I am absolutely delighted with this set and I'm sure they will last years. I should have just bought these in the first place.

Kan niet los om te vullen en het verdraaien in een andere stand wil niet. Wil terug sturen maar de retourtijd is voorbij en de molens werken niet. Wil graag een nieuwe set, Wacht op antwoord!! Het is nog steeds wachten op antwoord! Waarom reageren jullie niet?? Krijg een molen van Peugeot met levenslange garantie, maar jullie doen niets!

Previously had another Peugeot pepper grinder which finally quit on me after almost 10 years of heavy usage. I believe you definitely get what you pay for. New one is probably in the higher end in regards to $ but you are buying quality. When I purchased my first one I was a little skeptical because of the price but soon found out why they are more expensive and never regretted my purchase and the Elis Sense uSelect model I just bought is no different. They also have made some improvements in comparison to my old Peugeot grinder. The motor is quieter and more powerful. They also added 2 LED lights instead of 1. Love my new grinder and expect to get many years of usage also.
