Great book
This is one of the best books I have ever read. The story line the characters made you feel like you were with them. I will read this book again and again just to make sure I didn't miss anything. Thank you for this great read

It’s too bad that War is sometimes necessary.
This is a good series. I really enjoyed reading it. Sometimes with aliens, you never know who’s your friend. I guess that is how humans are too.

Excellent Writing
Not as wordy as Dietmar's normal stories, but every bit as good. He continues to be, in my opinion, the best contemporary science fiction writer around.

Great narration of a terrible story
Luke Daniels is, as always, an incredible narrator. You’d think SF plus a fantastic narrator would be a no brained. Unfortunately, not even his talents weren’t enough to ensure a quality story. There was so little to enjoy while listening to this book. The characters were bland and lifeless. The science was vague and nonsensical. The attempts at military or paramilitary organizations was laughable. There’s a saying used in writing. “Show, don’t tell.” This book is nothing but tell. The author doesn’t even have the time or consideration to describe the majority of the aliens that humans come into contact with. There are so many issue that listening often became frustrating. For some reason the characters often switched between first and last names when addressing others. It’s understandable in some situations but it’s so random that it’s like the author forgot if it should be the first or the last name being used. We are constantly told that one of the MCs, Cate, is charismatic, intelligent, attractive, etc. She’s supposed to be so intriguing that she even attracts the sexual/romantic attention of a freakin alien. The problem is, she never does or says anything unique. The author just say she is. The main enemy of all humans are a famed warrior race who crave battle but whose basic biology doesn’t make them good warriors. They fatigue and succumb to crippling vomiting as they react to the chemicals and hormones that fighting causes them to experience. They can’t handle a long term battle. If they hadn’t lucked out in finding the tech to become space fairing they would be hitting each other with clubs. Honestly, there’s nothing that makes them capable warriors. Again, the author just says they are. The lesson I learned from this book is to never judge a book by its narrator. If you’re looking for something read by Luke, I’d give this a pass.

Pretty Good....but
The story was very good. keeps you in the in the center of the plots by showing different perspectives of most battles. Only thing that would get me off track was when the narrator switched characters. it takes a few seconds to realize who is speaking. other than that it was a good story.
