Hg Kshatriya is like a master grade in many ways.
Hg kshatriya is like a master grade in many ways. Starting from the large box, its obvious the kit is much bigger than the majority of high grades. The instruction manual is in booklet form, unlike most hgs that have fold-out instruction sheets. At over 12 runners, the parts count is also definitely in master grade territory. The model is fun to assemble. It was forgiving in the nubs department and all parts fit together well. The plastic is of good quality. The only panel lining required is a bit of black ink inside the 12 particle cannons, but they look fine all yellow. The few stickers included are somewhat difficult to apply and leave visible seamlines. Kshatriya's shoulder joints are kind of awkward and funny but their design manages to support the 4 massive binders in various positions. They even have a locking system if you want additional stability. Being the kits focus, the binders articulate at many points, each have a retractable claw and are loaded with a total of 24 funnel missiles. It would have been great if a means to display them deployed were included. Also, it comes with very few accessories, only 2 green beam sabres, but this is true to the anime so I can understand. When completed, Kshatriya stands taller than some smaller mgs (like the endless waltz wing kits, victory, crossbone gundam, etc). Taking the binders into account, this is a really sizable model from all profiles. It is also heavier than the average mg but has surprisingly good stability. Other than its lack of inner frame, cockpit, pilot and optional decal sheets, hg Kshatriya can easily pass as a master grade. Overall, it gives a good name to the hg line and should not be missed. Especially for fans of large, radical mobile suit designs or the gundam unicorn series in general.

The Best of the Sleeves Suits!
What can I say about the Kshatriya? This kit is huge in comparison to most other High Grade kits, yet the weight of it is light and stable. You can get a great variety of poses from the Kshatriya when you add in the binders and extendable claws into the mix. A stand will not only help with getting more dynamic poses, but will help clear some space for use with the binders or beam sabers. The beams are quite long (I believe these are 1/100 size) when compared to the normal non-Unicorn series beam effect parts. So if you plan on posing this kit in anything more than a stationary neutral pose be prepared for some rearranging. My one complaint, and this might just be a defect on my kit rather than all Kshatriya kits, are the shoulder armor units. These units seem to get loose whenever I move the arms or the binders, and slowly proceed to separate from the other connection points. I do have a few nitpicks though. While I do like the inclusion of the beam sabers, I wish there were a proper place to store them. Yes, it is possible to make your own plug for the hilts, or to even just put the hilts with two of the extendable claws and fold them under like I did for a decent hiding place. Yet the lack of a proper storage place for them just strikes me as odd. The hands, which are massive by the way, are a little too big for the tiny beam saber hilts, and do not have a firm grip. The grip is good enough where the hilts might not fall out if the arm gets tilted too much, but the hilt is wiggly and makes it more difficult to get good slashing poses. The stickers are decent enough to show details from afar. Its applying them to their proper place along curved surfaces that makes it difficult. I would have preferred additional pieces to create the white trim rather than a sticker. Considering the price point of this kit, the extra plastic would have been a blessing. All in all this kit is a fantastic addition to anyone's collection. It is a tank of a kit, looks impressive straight out of the box, and stands out like most Zeon Mobile Suits. While I have a few nitpicks and only a single complaint, I would not hesitate to get a second kit of this, or the Repaired version, for myself.

A must have for the die hard Unicorn fans
An overall amazing kit and good representation of the Kshatriya from the Gundam Unicorn OVA. As with most UC kits, this bad boy is almost an entire torso bigger than other 1/144 scale high grades from Bandai. The build can get a bit boring once you finish with the main body and move onto the four wing like binders as they each have the exact same construction. The only major con that comes to mind is the 24 identical funnel parts that get cut out separately. The good thing is that if you have the means to display them deployed then its great! But on the other hand its an almost unnoticeable detail that's incredibly tedious to work through. If you have any interest in any sort of non-gundam mobile suit to build, I recommend picking up this kit when you can find it.

This is a big one
While this is only a 1/144 HG kit, it's a big one. The model kit is nice and study. I especially like the lock feature on the 4 wings, which makes them stay in place/pose.
