Absolutely love this thing!
Absolutely love this thing! I've already easily repaired several broken things around the house, as well as automotive plastics, with ease. Hardest thing is getting it to blend in and look nice. Functionality is spot on though. Repairs hold as good, if not better than the original parts.

Works great
Works great and it had quite a bit of wire mesh and plastic rod supplies that came with it.

Broke immediately. Never got to use it.
Stopped working after plugging in for the first time. I installed the tip into the welder, plugged it into a standard outlet, then sat it on the holder so it could warm up. After a couple of minutes there was a loud pop and smoke started coming out of the welder. Unplugged it immediately to let it cool down. Wouldn't power on again after that. Didn't even get to use it once.It comes with a lot of accessories and it's really cheap, which is why i bought it, but now I understand why it's priced so low. Now I have to go through the hassle of returning this. Definitely spending a little more and finding a better quality welder next time.

Melts Plastic, Mechanically Iffy
The first thing I noticed is that the plastic welding heads fit rather loosely into the body. In fact, the shaft is not circular in cross-section, and the brass heads only stay in place when rotated to specific angles and the set screw is twisted all the way. The loss of freedom in choosing an angle is annoying, and the loose fit is not good for heat transfer. When I started it up, it smoked a lot more than I expected (from inside the heat element). It melted plastic with reasonable speed. The brass brush cleaned the spade tip well when it was cool. The brass brush started to get gimpy bristles quickly. Maybe a brush with shorter bristles would work better.I liked the click on-click off switch and indicator light. The soldering tip fit perfectly and seemed nicely coated and polished. However, when I pulled out the soldering tip, there was a sort of ash or hard water-stain looking stuff inside. When I put the spade tip back in, I was unable to tighten the lock screw enough to fix the head in place, even though I had done it minutes before! Working the screw back and forth with the included screwdriver wasn't helping.I used a little bit of citric acid and water to free the screw, which seemed like it was blocked by some kind of ash or mineral deposit. I'm guessing it came from the smoke, because I hadn't gotten it anywhere near water before. Eventually the screw could be tightened adequately. The welding rods, stainless steel mesh, and aluminum tape were helpful. The welding strips were only LDPE, which as a little disappointing to me, as I was hoping the color code indicated the type of plastic (as it did for the rods). The stubby screwdriver was nice but seemed unnecessary. The foam pads-- I didn't know what they were for. What I got for the price was good, but the trouble I had with the screw almost convinced me to return it (even though I'm not sure it's still eligible). I'm glad I got it working again to avoid the hassle of a return or replacement. I might try replacing the screw with a longer one.

Plastic welder kit
This kit is pretty complete but a storage case would have been nice but a good buy for the money
