This was a good introduction to the people's and events that shaped this part of the world. The writing was clear and to the point. Bravo !

Really good read, there is a lot of information and I love the narrative of keeping in mind the old saying of "history is written by the winners". Reminds you there is a lot of things we might never really know about this civilizations but author does a good job of giving you the info we have.Give a try, it could lead to an interest on at least one of the civilizations that you can look for more reading material.

Lots of references at the end of each section but the book reads like a Discovery Channel show. Lots of loosely related material but not deep enough to be interesting

This is a well written easy to understand book on the Mayan, Aztecs, and Incas. It kind of feels like you are reading cliff notes for an exam but adds a significant amount of detail to the topics. Yet its not overwhelming in detail thus allowing you to discover other books on the topics. If you are just starting to learn about these cultures these books are a good starting point

If you are interested in the old empires of America before Columbus arrived (and their downfalls once he did,) then this is not a bad place to start.

Definitely getting a history rundown.

It's an interesting read, it has a lot of interesting stories.And it has a couple of nice pictures, too. Overall, nice.

Very simplistic and incoherent at times. Was not edited thoroughly. Does provide a flavor of the civilizations however.

The Mayan book only contains about 60 pages .There is suppose to be about 500 .Do not buy !!
