Q: can i use these glasses to look at the eclipse? thank you.

No. These are simply sunglasses that are large enough to fit over prescription glasses. The lenses are NOT strong enough to filter the bright light of the sun's corona or the sudden reemergence of the sun itself.

Q: what is the model number? I'm looking for 2301E

I purchased Solar Shield fit-over sunglasses several times. Like them because the frame blocks out bright sunlite at sides and top. More expensive numbers are ok but I found that lenses can pop out sometimes when the glasses are dropped, tho lenses can be reinserted fairly easily. More expensive frames seem to be more fragile, especially earpieces. I had better results with the cheaper numbers, 29003A and 29008A. Lenses don't pop out and frames are more sturdy. Yes, they look kinda cheap, but they sure do last better than the more expensive choices. I will purchase these same two numbers again.

Q: Are the appropriate for viewing the eclipse?

That isn't the one we got so I don't know. Ours are light cardboard glasses and inside they have the correct markings: Model #HBY17019 and claim to conform to requirements of EN ISO 12312-2:2015 and EN1836:2005. I think this means they're okay.

Sorry, I don't know. My husband wears them while driving and the windshield has the UV protection.

Brilliant.

Sun flashing through the trees brings on a migrain. These glasses cut out the light each side and the top. I am able to still wear my prescription glassed underneath. I'm very pleased with them.
