Very easy to read

I have always wanted one to check that my meat and chicken is properly cooked inside without pulling it apart to check, eventually got round to buying this and it's great, not sure how I've managed without it, will most certainly be perfect for cooking Xmas dinner, easy to use and does exactly as it should.

This is a piratical and well priced way to keep track of food and drink temperatures.The read out can be set to C or F and the reading held set on screen if you need to show it to anyone or make a record of it etcIt is about the slowest such unit I have used to register the ultimate temperature of the food/drink to the extent that the food/drink will be cooling whilst this is still registering the reading, which you can see steadily rising on the display.Cleaning is simple with a damp cloth and the spike sensor end has a plastic sleeve cover to protect it and the user.The listing states it is "delivered in an elegant, foam lined box" - Mine was not - simply in card backed blister pack, which is fine, but not as listed, so if getting as gift, you will need to do some wrapping.

Handy for cooking a joint of meat.

Takes ages for the temperature to show as it increases by one or two Celsius at a time

I love this instant-read food thermometer that I've been using! It's great for cooking, baking, or even deep-frying because the probe gives very quick and accurate readings. It's easy for me to read the big digital screen whether I'm in the kitchen or outside by the grill. It's great that it doesn't get damaged by water; I can just rinse it under running water when I'm done using it. It even has a handy guide for meat temperatures and a setting that is already set, which is very helpful. It also makes a great gift because of how nicely it's packed. A must-have for cooks!

Why did you choose this product over others?:Worked well initially then the steam got into the product and it stopped working intermittently

Nice looking good design but operationally very slow to get to temperature. So no good for me, have to wait for 30+seconds to get up to around 70 degrees, unfit for purpose really. Wouldn’t recommend.
