Perfect gift for at home or on the go!
My friend showed me this when we went out to lunch together with her baby & knew it would be a great gift. She ordered fruit and then used this to purée it to feed her. So easy to use & good size to fit in the diaper bag. I purchased two; one for my nieces baby shower & one for a baby’s Baptism. This works great for at home or on the go! For the baptism gift I also purchased BELLA BUSTA -Blessings Baptism Christening engraved frame. Great gifts!! I will be ordering more of these as needed for gifts!!

Great old-fashioned product
This is a great baby food grinder! I absolutely love it. I use it to feed my son what my fiance and myself are eating for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I'll throw veggies, meat, rice, beans, etc in there and just grind it up. I think something that makes people unhappy about this grinder is that they expect a pureed texture from it- if you want that, get a blender. There is a little texture to the food when it comes through the screen, and yes, it does take some muscle to grind denser food like meat. The texture in the food works very well for my 8 month old, but if you're feeding a 4 month old, you may want to consider fully pureeing the food to prevent gagging. Another thing that I LOVE about this grinder is that it's so easy to use and it's portable. I just throw it in the diaper bag when we go out to eat, and I can share my food with my son. Honestly, it has made eating out with a baby so much better! Now that he has something to eat, he actually enjoys going to restaurants, which means my fiance and myself can also enjoy our time out. In conclusion, this grinder is an awesome, old-school tool similar to the one my mom used for my siblings and myself. It's great because buying this and feeding your baby what you're eating is way healthier and cheaper than constantly buying baby food. It's also nice because it doesn't require electricity, so you can use it anywhere, anytime. If you're into simpler baby gadgets that have worked for decades, I recommend this product. If you want something that magically produces Gerber-like slop for your baby with no effort on your part, keep dreaming. Also, it's never leaked on me.

NOT FOR THIS OCTOGENARIAN
I owned a similar item in the 1970's to make regular home-cooked meals into baby food for my babies. We had a big garden, and our babies could eat what I cooked for the rest of the family. I loved it We are now in our 80's, and I bought this one to make regular home-cooked food into soft food for my husband who is having major dental work done. Unfortunately, this one isn't working out for me. * arthritis in my hands makes it difficult for me to hold the machine in one hand while pushing the "bowl" top down and turning the crank at the same time * sliding the tubes together and pulling them apart to clean is hard to do * speaking of the crank, the knob is too small to turn comfortably or easily (or at all) with only room on the knob for 2 fingers or a thumb and a finger * and last of all, the directions are printed in very small print in light green on white paper, I don't look at reading direction as fun challange * worst of all, after failing my first trial, I couldn't remove the Grinder from the grinder bowl (maybe that information is included in those pages in the directions that I couldn't read) I'll give it 4 Stars. The directions really are hard to read! It's a great idea and well made. It's just not made for me.

compared to the KidCo food mill
I prefer this in almost all ways to the KidCo food mill of similar shape and function. (This is not to say the KidCo is a bad product. I simply prefer the Green Sprouts one. The one reason I can see for the KidCo might be if your baby is just starting solid foods, and this is because the KidCo has smaller holes in the grinding surface and hence makes food slightly less textured. The KidCo also came with an extra gasket, and some versions come with a carrying case. Also, the KidCo is a little less prone to leaking liquid out the base.) Pros of the Green Sprouts: --Bigger overall, meaning more room in the base to fill with food and more room in the bowl for milled food. It also has a 'pour' spout on the bowl. --Easier to understand. The Green Sprouts directions were longer and clearer. --Easier to use. The KidCo is stiffer and harder to push down and harder to turn. --Easier to disassemble. The KidCo is a pain in the rear to get apart. I often have to jam a toothpick in one of the holes in the grate to get the top to unscrew. By comparison, I just tighten the easy-turn knob on the Green Sprouts' central post and then unscrew the top. --Easier to clean. I frequently have to painstakingly use a toothpick to poke food out of the tiny holes in the grate on the KidCo. With the Green Sprouts the holes are bigger and food rinses right out. --Stainless steel both on the turning part that crushes the food and on the grate that the food squishes through. (As for the reviewer who had this 'explode'... it must either be a fluke or she was grinding counterclockwise instead of clockwise. I have never had that problem with this mill, nor do I see how it would even be possible.) Keep in mind that this isn't a blender and food will end up a bit textured. But for what it claims to do, the Green Sprouts carries through 100%.

CAN NOT BE RETURNED
Product cannot be returned!! This mill does not work any better than a fork. Not worth the money or effort to use and clean it. I used to have a marvelous, small, portable baby food mill that could easily be carried in a diaper bag. This new mill cannot grind any kind of meat and won't fit in a diaper bag. It can't be returned, which I now see in the tiny print. After reading all the reviews and trying to make a good selection, I now just feel scammed. I am disappointed with the seller and Amazon.

Gets the job done
It works okay. A little awkward and catches often but gets the job done. Ended up primarily using a small blender instead.

This is a good little gadget to have with you at home and even if you go in a restaurant with a baby, ideal for mushing up all those nice vegetables and fruit, also ideal for soft meat and fish portions for your little one. I highly recommend it. Saves on buying jar foods and gives your baby the exact food you eat without additives and preservatives.

Ottimo prodotto.
