New to bee keeping and my bee keeping buddies were very impressed. I did learn something from the construction of them. I put one together in the afternoon sun and the other in the morning shade massive difference in ease when the sun warmed the wax.

Quality hive. Second one I have purchased. Would buy again. Good coating of beeswax.

Very impressed with the quality of this hive. So much so that once I got done assembling this hive, I ordered another one.Things I like:1. The boxes are joined together with dovetail joints which are superior to the box joints typically used on hives.2. I did not measure the thickness, but these boxes seem to be made out of a thicker material than most (thicker that 3/4”).3. Was not aware they came with Queen excluders (mine had 2). I don’t use them, but was nice they were included.4. Includes high-quality nails for assembly (brass or brass-coated).5. Brood frames are black which makes it much easier to see eggs when doing inspections.6. Boxes are waxed so no need to paint, and they look good.Things that could probably use improvement:1. Not sure it was clearly described, but everything needs to be assembled. Nails are provided, but instructions are not clear on what nails are used where. Fortunately I have a pneumatic pin nailer so I used that to assemble the frames.2. This hive has a screened bottom but no way to easily utilize an inspection board.Would definitely recommend, especially for the price.

Beautiful colored hives. Very thick wax. Tight fitting joints makes it more difficult to assemble but may make it more durable in the long run. It took longer to put this brand together. Approx 1 hour compared to the 30 min for other brands. Noticed one knot hole that caused breaking in the box. See picture. Comes with mouse guard and notched inner cover that were not included in other sets. I would probably buy this again. One star off only because of knot causing hole.

Well built and easy to assemble. I’ve purchased this hive kit multiple times and have never had an issues. The wax coating on the boxes is nice.

This is the complete UNASSEMBLED hive. If you understand the Langstroth hive and are familiar with its components, the assembly is very easily completed. If you are not familiar with Langstroth style hives and the components, just hop on YouTube and watch a video, this will help with the assembly. I have compared the Hoover 10 frame hive with numerous reputable websites and have found this to be the most affordable complete hive, just add your bee’s! I would recommend that you pre drill a hole for the portion that you nail (on the hive bodies) so that you can avoid any splitting in the wood. Some frames may split when nailed, but that is to be expected. I used wood glue on the frames as well. Overall I am very happy with my purchase of 4 Hoover hives. Thank you!

This hive has great quality material. The wood is thick and strong the wax coating is thick and even. The only thing I had trouble with was the dove tail joints were out of tolerance. I had to use a knife and sand paper to take off a bit of wood from the joints and to hammer them together with a rubber mallet. It was a bit more time consuming to do have to do that. I hope they fix that because I plan to order again in the future. The quality was exceptional and the price was good. The rest of the assembly went smoothly and the hive came with a mouse guard that I didn’t notice when I ordered.
