Light gauge. Easy to install.
This trim is pretty light gauge aluminum. It is mainly for aesthetics. While I wouldn’t count on it to provide excellent dent protection, it is super easy to install since it is possible to cut it with Tin snipsThe self adhesive strips are a bonus. It was a really quick install just trim and stick and the project was done.I was making a wood box to match my cedar hot tub and this trim worked out perfectly.

Good way to finish exposed drywall edges
I used these guards to give a finished look to the drywall in my garage where it meets the garage door. I couldn't figure out a durable way to do this using stuff on the drywall aisle at the hardware store, so I was glad to come across these. The adhesive has worked well, it is still stuck to the wall in the 30-degree weather that we have been having lately. I would be worried about this product pulling up the finish on the drywall if removed. Keep this in mind, it could potentially be mitigated by using a heat gun.

Will need more than two if you have 8' ceiling and 3.5" base molding with no crown
I hate taking off a star for something that YOU should measure, but the manufacturer isn't taking into account that many homes have 8' foot ceiling and not necessarily 5 1/2" base molding (imo, they should, but not all do). If you have crown AND 3 1/2 base molding then 2 pieces will cover the corner fine. They are 45" on the nose, 8 foot minus 3 1/2" molding = 92 1/2".The finish is absolutely FLAWLESS with only slightly rough edges on the top and bottom. If you're lapping 2 of them, I suggest filing the the top edge of the bottom piece smooth, if anything favoring any angle toward the visible front, then on the lap piece reversing that to favor any chamfer (angle) to the back. Where it runs into your base or crown is fine to leave alone, it's not THAT rough. Also on the overlap piece, remove the self adhesive... don't ask me how, that stuff is STICKY. Perhaps some heat or just razor out as much as you can up to the point where the two pieces lap. If you're really good, you might get away with a "weather cut" and joining them without a lap.Photos show a piece temporarily taped up as I try different colors and widths, so far this one is winning and looks just as good up against our farmhouse red kitchen or our light sage colored dining room. Since we have crown molding (and shorter ceilings), two pieces work fine, I really want to give these FIVE STARS since they are excellent and I highly recommend them, but I can't since they won't work in some homes without a third piece. Just make sure to measure if you don't know what your base molding is (may still be slightly shy with 5 1/2".Photos are also nearly identical, one is just with the flash.
