1/2" 2T-M2 Brass & Tubular Washing Machine Hot Water Shut Off Valve

I contacted a plumber who said he would have to cut into the wall. So I bought this replacement washing machine shut off valve. It fit perfectly. As mentioned before: 1) You will need thicker o-rings to use this valve over your existing stems. Get #12 size o-rings 13/16 OD x5/8 ID x 3/32. 2) The flathead screws at the top are a beast to get off. I solved it easily by using a socket wrench with a flat head screw driver bit which gave me the leaverage needed and plenty of room to work. I did not need to cut the wall and will not use that plumber again!

I had a leaky 30 year old valve that looked very similar. I watched a few youtube videos on replacing this valve. Ordered this and it fit perfectly. As long as the threaded part of the original valve is in good shape, this goes on easily and no more leaks.Be careful removing the screws at the top of the valve because you need to o-ring type washers and they can fall out when taking the new valve apart.

Same quality as the plumbing supply house with less cost. I don't usually purchase plumbing parts on Amazon without knowing if they are the same quality as my local plumbing supply house. This matched that quality at a lesser price. In my trade there is a BIG difference between cheap and inexpensive.

There are cheaper options, but this is the one to buy! I replaced the valve in a 25 year old Oatley wall box with this one when I discovered that the old valve was not shutting off completely during a remodel. I first bought an entire new wall box and figured I had to cut into the wall to replace the old one. Turns out that all I needed to do was replace this valve and save a lot of work and headache. The swap was fairly easy with the hardest part was getting the old valve off as it was stuck a bit on one side. I applied a little PB Blaster spray solvent and tapped on the old valve and it loosened up. I use a straight screwdriver bit in a 1/4" ratchet to remove the top screws. I cleaned up the old nipples and installed the new valve.As suggested by others, I replaced the larger O-rings with new #12 ones (be sure to apply some silicon Plumbers Grease to the new O-rings before installing). Some say they had to reuse the old top screws but I was able to to use the new top screws on my valve.I couldnt be happier with this valve!

Unable to seat without small leak and solved with adding 2 new O rings on each side instead of one.Works great, but my wife does not use shut off feature, oh well.

The Oatey valve that I installed in 1998 was leaking. I tried to replace it with a new Oatey valve but it didn't fit. After a little research I found Frank Perkins Review on Amazon. He stated that this Watts valve was a direct replacement for Oatey brand valves. Thank you for your helpful review Frank! As he said, I did need 2 #12 size o-rings 13/16 OD x5/8 ID x 3/32 because the o-rings that come with the Watts are too small.Overall it was a very simple repair. Just remove the two screws, swap the valve and o-rings and put two screws back in and tighten up.

I liked this product because it was well made and I am not a plumber but was very easy to install simply had to remove 4 screws some advise keep your old screws from existing valve you may need them , the ones that came with the new valve were a little short and and would not work so I used the screws that came out of the old valve. The old adage you get what you pay for is very true. Especially in plumbing do not try to save a couple dollars and buy a cheaper valve spend a little more get the best valve. Great Product, easy install,, problem solved.

I tried another shutoff valve, but that valve had brackets at the bottom that conflicted with the nut on the ends of both inlet pipes. This shutoff valve worked perfectly. I did purchase the 200 assorted plumbing o-rings kit on Amazon that were recommended in another review. The #12 o-rings fit perfectly. Our washing machine operators are also very pleased. The earlier commenters were very helpful.
