These sausage are full of duck fat and Han Chinese spices, but the flavor is an experience all capable of trying should buy and try without fail. Introduced to these sausages many, many years ago by a Philippine work associate who shared her lunch with me, bless her heart. The sausage are to be boiled slowly in a small amount of water, until water disappears with reduction in the duck fat. Brown them further without burning, and they are sweet and tasty beyond belief, due to sugar content :) Not available everywhere, outside of ethnic neighborhood stores that sell this product, served with white rice, and your favorite vegetable, or nothing else. You will be glad you tried them, just as I was many, many years ago. A little pricey, but well worth it. Share this secret with your friends, and simply enjoy!

Even if you live near a hard-core Asian market with other brands available, or the other variations of this brand available, this is the best, the classic, and a great price. The classic for use in pancit. I love these that until you open them they don't even have to be refrigerated. Made in the USA.

It's sweet, it's salty, there's a good bit of fat (flavor), there are spices uncommon to many of us, and I find it totally addictive. Unlike many sausages, Chinese sausage is used more as an ingredient than something you just eat alone, though I do that as well sometimes. Added to fried rice, steamed buns, stir fries, etc. it adds a flavor and texture that I just can't resist. I've tried many brands in the past, but keep coming back to Kam Yen Jan. I love the fact I can buy it on Amazon because there are no places I can purchase it locally where I am. I've purchased it three times from Amazon so far and had no issues whatsoever. For those worried that you are being shipped a raw meat product unrefrigerated, don't worry. It's preserved, and I've never seen it refrigerated in stores. It even says refrigerate after opening on the package.

While this sausage is a bit on the sweet side for my taste, it can ceca great addition to eggs, soups, salads or anything that might need a little fat and protein. Good value for the money. It comes in packs of 3.

Haven’t had these lovely smokey, sweet morsels in decades and was thrilled to have them delivered and how durable they are in their packaging. I’m slowly indulging in them on special occasions but they aren’t expensive! Really yummy 😋

Love these sausages. Unlike what other reviewers wrote, I just got mine today and cooked them and they didn’t have any weird taste to them. They taste the same as if I bought them from the local Asian store. Yeah it’s more moist because during shipment they most likely will get warm during travel so the fats from it will melt. If it was shipped during the cooler months then this likely wouldn’t happen. Still, it doesn’t do anything to the product as it’s vacuum sealed and a shelf product until opened. I would buy this again definitely!

These are so greasy and not as sweet as I had hoped. They tasted ok but these are not the ones I remember my dad cooking. Will try another brand.

O Gawdess, I just put in a second order all in the same week. I've only finished package 1 of 3 but can tell that I'll be going through these quickly. Until I get around to making lap xuong myself, this is the way it's going to be... This sausage is so flavorful you should treat it as more of a condiment than a dried "hot dog." Every last fatty bit is delicious but I find the crispy seared ends and edges particularly toothsome. Can be quite economical if you treat it right.
