Great book!
I have recommended this book to clients for over a decade. Practical and clear ideas on how to cope effectively in what can be stressful family decisions. Author is also a great speaker if she is still available. Cooperative Extension Service is known for decades as a reliable and objective source of family finance education--it just kept as a hidden gem since there is no publicity about it.

Helpful
I bought it mainly as a reference for the kids but they clearly don’t want to think about It. Tough subject!Good title!

Brain storming in a book
This is a very practical book, full of common sense suggestions for families resolving disputes about caring and succession issues

The website is enough
Go to the website for this product at the University of Minnesota. You'll get very little more from this book.

Great for planning the small, but important stuff..
...it seems that most of the focus when we plan for our death and the disposition of our assets is on the big dollar stuff, and certainly, that is important. Overlooked; however, are typically those small dollar items that probably mean a lot to certain members of the family. This book will help you deal with the emotions that are often tied to things like grandma's yellow pie plate.

Get this book, before you think you need it.
Every family should have a copy of this. This book is full of ways to get the sentimental value of personal items clear, before the passing of a loved one. People are less than reasonable in grief. The distributions suggested in this book can help people achieve fairness without strife, in passing down all kinds of personal property: things that can't always be valued by dollars, as well as property that has a clear money value.

Just really not very helpful in my situation. Haven’t found exactly what I’m looking for but I would not recommend.

Big Help!!!
The book gives you a lot of ideas on what to do, I just wish I would have known about before my mother passed last June. But that is okay, I know about it for the future, and I will be using it a lot and sharing it with my sisters. Thanks so much.
