Worked as intended - good for medium sized knives.
I was given a Grizzly Tools sharpener, that came with some basic accessories - a guide bar, and one jig for holding straight blades (chisels, etc.). I didn't have a special jig for knife sharpening. My results were poor that way, which is probably why the sharpener was given away originally.Once I bought this tool, results with knives are MUCH better than what I could do by just trying to hold a steady hand angle with the guide bar. I'm still not great at making perfect edges at the curved tips of my knives, but hopefully that just takes practice. I'll also say that the different sizes available for this jig would be nice, but I don't intend to buy more. This size has been good for all our "medium" sized knives, but the holder is a little bit too wide for the smallest paring knives in our kitchen (can't quite sharpen at the angle I would like to because the jig is too thick/large).Overall, I think any of the pricey water bath sharpening wheel sets should include this (or equivalent) as a must-have accessory. If you have the sharpening wheel, and your accessories don't include one of these - buy the one that best matches your blades.

Works great
This thing holds your knife at the correct angle for sharpening. It appears to be cast aluminum and is quite well built. There us another longer jig for more flexible knives. It is possible to mess up by not keeping the knife edge perpendicular to the stone surface when drawing the knife along the stone. Keeping your thumb on the knurled knob helps with this. Do this in good light and you can see that the water will flow over the knife edge evenly. I think this is indication that you are doing it right. There are several short videos on youtube on how to sharpen knives with the Tormek. I watched them several times before starting and I found them to be very helpful.

When used with the Tormek grinder system, knives get scary sharp.
I bought the small knife holder and this and I'm happy with both. Sharpened all sizes and shapes of knives for the kitchen. Easy to use with some practice and sharp knives are nice to have!

Most used Tormek accessory.
My Tormek is by far and away my favorite sharpening system, and this is the my most used accessory for it. It's well constructed and gets the job done fantastically. My only gripe is that Tormek should include this with both the T-4 and T-8 models. Seriously, who's going to own a Tormek and not use it to sharpen knives?

Quick, slick edges on knives.
If you have a Tormack (I bought mine years ago), and if you like sharp knives, this is the attachment for you. I was using a diamond steel to sharpen my kitchen knives, but the results were so disappointing. Slicing tomatoes (my wife loves them) I ended up either crushing them or sawing lightly back and forth to break the skin to get the cut started. After sharpening and honing on the the my chefs knife on the Tormack product the knife cut the skin so well i was able to make such thin slices you could read news print through them. Potatoes (whichwe both like) are sliced with hardly more effort than the tomato. A sharp knife is a real pleasure to use. I then sharpened every klnife in the house. Does as well on paring knives and steak knives. Took about 5-10 minutes a knife. I set the angle with the Tormack angle finder for 25 degrees to the stone. Had to raise the support arm on grinder about 2 inches higher than mychisel height. You will take pride in the edges it gives you!

Good, but too expensive.
I brought this for my 1 x 30 belt sander. It worked well with a few modifications concerning the tightening knob which was too big and got in the way. I can measure the degree of angle with my phone. I also got the tool rest they offer. I can free-hand them fairly well, but this gives me the exact angle I desire.

Best knife jig in the business
This jig is amazing. I now have razor edges on all my knives including the S30v pocket knives. I have never been happy with the edge on my tougher steels like S30v and 154cm until using this jig and finishing on my waterstones.
