Taking the mystery out of documentation
I was fortunate enough to receive an advance copy of this book. I have spent so much money and time trying to crack the code of documentation so I could feel confident and competent with it. I wish I had had this book during my internship or first year in private practice. I would have saved a TON of time and money and alleviated a lot of stress. I don't bill insurance, but I do have some clients who request a superbill, and regardless, I want to have my documentation ducks in a row.Maelisa has such a compassionate and understanding tone throughout this book. The first chapter guides you through what sections to prioritize based on your specific needs. The section outlining what Maelissa calls the "clinical loop of documentation" was invaluable for helping me understand how the different aspects of documentation interweave and come together. Finally, charting makes sense beyond keeping track of what happens from session to session!I love the clinician spotlights that highlight real life examples and suggestions. The templates are also incredibly helpful. I finally feel confident about my documentation! I'm clear on what I need to do to document in a way that meets my ethical obligation as a clinician and best serves my clients. I've used the templates to streamline my documentation process and shorten the time I spend keeping up with my charting. I can't recommend this book highly enough!

Comprehensive Resource
This book is a well organized comprehensive resource. The author has truly thought of everything needed for documentation that supports good treatment and requirements from 3rd party billers. She is generous with her time and provides helpful information for free online. Even if you follow her online you will still benefit from all that is provided in this book. This area is not well taught in graduate school but so necessary in professional life. I think this resource is applicable to everyone from new graduates to well seasoned professionals.

Most helpful book!!
I was given a promotional copy of this book, yet I also pre-ordered a copy as well to keep on my Kindle. This book is awesome!! These are my own personal thoughts without input from anyone else.I love this book for several reasons. I like how each chapter flows into the next so naturally and how there is no doubt about the point being made in each chapter. As someone recovering from difficult hand surgery and grafting, the templates in the book are such a gift as I don't have to type as much. As I also struggle with ADHD, this simplifies my work!!I find the book full of encouragement and warmth and anyone challenged with documentation needs this positive regard.I think this book would be so useful in the hands of grad school professors, supervisors, practice managers in group practices and individuals in private practice. This work is a game-changer for me. This book is something we all need to have on our shelves!!

THE Documentation Bible
Every therapists bookshelf must have one. I received a promotional copy before the release but I wanted a physical copy for ease of use. It is well written and SUCCINCT! All you need to know about documentation is in this book with easy to read explanations and examples (with tips, vignettes, and templates). I am so impressed with the material including things like documenting ethical dilemmas, writing letters for clients, and how to turn policies into forms. Maelissa literally makes documentation "Stress-Free" with her knowledge of documentation and her compassionate voice that's evident throughout the book.

So so helpful!!
Best $50 I’ve ever spent on documentation! If you ever feel like your documentation could use some improvements OR if you’re starting a private practice, I’d HIGHLY recommend this book! It relieved so much stress I had around documentation and gave me so many new ideas on how to run the paperwork side of my business - things I’d never seen talked about before. I’ve loved Dr. Maelissa’s YouTube videos for a while now, but this book offers so much more! If you’re considering buying, just do yourself a favor and get it right now!!

Such a helpful book and a great resource!
(I was not compensated in any way for this review) This book breaks everything down into easily digestible and understandable basics, which, ultimately is great for someone like me who always worried and stressed over the “paperwork” being lacking in one way or another. I also had a tendency to overthink and write more than was needed or necessary. I didn’t think that I could break that habit and fear of “not having enough” in my notes. Then along came this book! I had purchased the program prior to the book, but the book puts everything in one place, which I find so much more convenient. Yes, it is possible to use bullet points and one or two sentences to meet required documentation. No, notes don’t have to take 10+ minutes, or even 5+ once you get yourself set up. I recommend the book, it’s definitely worth the price for the sense of peace it can provide as well as all the resources.
