Good tuning, good battery life, picture is very good outdoors.
I had read in other reviews that the picture was a bit harsh, and indoors, it can be. It's not awful, mind you, just a bit harsh: a little too much contrast and color. Outdoors, however, which is where I watch this unit mostly, the picture has a very nice appearance. Battery life is good, and the tuner is as good as other bigger TVs that I own. I use this for over-the-air TV, so a decent tuner is a must. Portable, obviously, and the coax cable adapter that comes with it makes it easy to hook-up to a legit antenna. Has a TV signal strength meter of sorts, it will tell you if the signal is "bad," "normal," or "good." Even with "bad" signal I still often got an uninterrupted picture. Time will tell, but thus far I am happy with this purchase. Only drawback is the "bubble button" type remote control. I just don't like that sort of button style. Also, the remote will turn on/off other devices in the room that use the same type of remote. Not the biggest problem. I haven't had any battery outages, but I don't watch that long at any one time, so your experience may vary. In any case, you can run the TV off a portable power inverter with ease. You will probably need an external speaker for outdoor use. This thing just isn't very loud.

Worth buying as gifts
Prior to ordering, based on the price and "off brand" name I expected poor color rendering and a grainy image. Given the age old telescoping antenna pictured, I would have been happy with a single station and delighted with two. Upon arrival, set up was simple. The image quality floored me - it is top quality. I now have a tedious job ahead of me - sorting through a multitude of channels and deciding which to keep. To the vendor: Thank you for giving me a product worth more than the price.

Good item with some short comings.
Why did you pick this product vs others?: Brand recommended by trusted source. Pros: Good value for the money, major upgrade over my old one bought from Radio Shack years ago. Sound quality is fair for what it is. Has fairly good directions. Bonus was the built in FM radio which works very well. Cons: antenna hook up very poor. The extendable antenna will not stay snug, and the antenna adapter cord is very loose and will not stay snug unless taped down.

Doesn't receive channel 10 for some reason
I have ordered two TV sets made by this company and for some reason, neither was capable of receiving channel 10. I live in Northern Michigan and channel 10 (WWTV/WWUP) is one of our main stations here. There has to be something flawed in their design as the station works fine on every other TV we have (with an 80 percent signal). Would not recommend this brand especially if you live in an area with a Channel 10 available.

Great for horse camping.
I camp in the back of my small horse trailer and this TV works great for this. When it is too cold to sit outside and have morning coffee, I can put on TV as pictured. Also, if it is raining it gives me something to do when I can't be outdoors. It doesn't take up much space and I can run it off of electric or battery. It gets many channels depending on where I am camping. In the Shawnee National Forest, I got good reception, but in Arkdale, WI nothing-but neither did anyone else who had fancy LQ trailers/RVs. I bought a 50 mile additional antenna. I have been testing it in my home north of Chicago and get lots of channels in various rooms and on the patio.

Fantastic buy for the money
For a small tv it's actually really good. Color is good and sound is good. I think a couple of reviews don't take into consideration that it is a "Portable tv " and compare it against their larger family tv. PICTURE QUALITY: The picture is clear and color is good (and is adjustable of course). Viewing angle is ok for it's size. SOUND QUALITY: Volume is ample and not tinny or boxy. And has front firing stereo speakers. REMOTE: The remote has more than enough controls. You can even control video media ran into it or off the card slot. RECEPTION: Reception is actually very good. Of course it depends your location. In an urban environment you may be pressed for reception due to tall buildings though. It comes with 3 antennas, one of which is the slide on telescoping antenna. The other 2 are magnetized vehicle antennas. You can also run your home cable into it. Overall, for the money, you would be hard pressed to find anything else with as many inputs and picture/video options as well as quality.
