Safe and easy to use bread knife
I have small hands and have a challenge with large knives. This bread knife has a very comfortable handle and is easy to use. Very good quality and value for money. Recommended.

Not the sharpest tool in the box.
This is an average piece of kit but isn’t as pointy as I would expect to be for a filleting knife, the end is quite broad so if you’re after doing accurate knife work then this isn’t for you. If however, like me, you want it to cut punishing bait then it’s absolutely fine! The length is as you would expect and it’s a decent, fairly sharp blade that is holding its edge fairly well so far. The balance of the knife is ok, but you get what you pay for. Has been fine through the dishwasher and takes a bit of a beating in the tackle box so seems to Be fairly durable.

Sharp bread knife
Long and sharp bread knife, perfect for large, crusty sourdough bread.

plastic handle flaking bits of black plastic after two months
The knife blade itself is very average in a 'neither good nor bad' sense, but the handle is dreadful, having started to shed little flakes of the black plastic it's made from fairly constantly. The 'bolster' - which is the circular ring between the blade and the handle, has also come loose. Again this has happened after just a couple of months of use, which says a lot about the quality of the knife's manufacture. Bearing in mind that I'm in my 60's and still have knives I bought in my 20's doing perfectly good service . . . and no, they weren't terribly expensive forty odd years ago. This one will become a 'gardening knife' with its handle wrapped in leather as I like to try to repurpose things that aren't fit for their intended purpose.
