This item is simply adorable! While the material is NOT ABSORBENT (it is a thin, velvet-like material - similar to what you would find on a Halloween costume), the material makes it to where a finished hair style shouldn't be disturbed by wearing this. I would recommend that you use it while you apply makeup or for cosplay, but not while washing your face. You could even wear this for a long period of time and I don't think it would damage your hair. ALL headbands give me a headache - even most glasses. This one took the longest period of time to start - about 2 hours. The slight headache that occurred as a result of wearing the headband went away after I took off the headband. The elastic is strong enough to stay on your head, but not too strong as to give most people pain. This headband should work for most people. I think it's small enough to fit well on an older child - say around 10 years old - and most smaller adults. I don't think it is small enough to work on a toddler. I am unsure if it has enough give for a large, masculine person with an abnormally large head circumference because the velvet-like material isn't stretchy - only the elastic part at the base is.

it's sorta minor but 2 things happened when i got this product: first it came in a large shipping envelope...but the actual package containing the headband was already opened even though the envelope it came in wasn't. i thought it was weird but passed it off since the headband still looked in good condition. i used it roughly twice and thought it looked really cute but then upon my third use, i noticed the band covering the rubber making it stretch was pulling loose and about to fall off. now, idk if this is the products fault or because i have such a big head (lol) but i think it should be warned either way. btw, i managed to sew both sides back together (yes the second side stitching started to fray as well) and now you can barely tell it happened. sorry i didn't include photos, i didn't actually think to make this review until after i sewed it. still really soft and cute though!

This hairband is supercute, and keeps all of my hair pulled back so that I can wash my face, use moisturizer, and other face care products, without getting them all in my hair.
