My dogs play hard and when they go to get water it is not hot even after a few hours out in the heat. Wish they came in a larger size.

I thought the water bowl was huge and it did not fit my small neater pet bowl ... i brought the smallest one that do not have high legs ... so i was preparing to send it back ... i said to my self lets c if it will work away way .. I tell you i placed bowl in frezzer added some water to the bowl at night woke up it was frozen i placed the bowl on floor at 9am its 4:09 and the water is still cold ... im keeping mine ... i brought two because i have two cats ... well they can share water and i only need to sit this bowl out while the other bowl prepare for dinner feeding .... as a bonus i had fountain bowl i needed to keep buying replacement stuff for the fountain bowl ... imma leave fountain alone and settle for the polar bowl my cats are drinking out of it .. a must have... now i must say one of my bowls came with a dent in it hmmmm oh yeah my two bowl arrived with out a box thats why it got dented up ... i was ready to buy a third one but i dont want no more dented bowls ... im not happy with the dents thats why i took a star off because of the dent ...

Mommy says we live in the desert – all I know is that it is very warm. I like to lay on the cool tile in the summer and Mommy has a cool vest for me too. I was so excited when Mommy got me these Polar Bowls. I love to drink cold water and ever since then, I get to drink ice cold water all of the time.Mommy or Daddy will fill a Polar Bowl at night with water a little from the top. In the morning, the water will have frozen solid and Mommy or Daddy will fill the bowl to the top with cold water. Mommy says I’m a little boy and I don’t drink that much water. When Daddy would put the bowl out in the morning in the summer, there would still be ice left when Mommy got home from work about 6 hours later.I also get very thirsty during the night sometimes and Mommy and Daddy always make sure I have a water bowl in my bed. Having three bowls means that I get to have a cold one out at all times and the other one can always be in the freezer. The other can be in the sink, ready for a good cleaning. Mommy cleans the bowls with a copper scrubber and Comet or Bar Keepers Friend but you can clean them however you usually clean stainless steel.I hope your Mommy and Daddy love you enough to get you a Polar Bowl too. We have many stray cats around. Summer is miserable hot. I try to put ice cubes in water but they melt too fast in the 100 degree temp here in Las Vegas and making big cubes each day is a pain. So far this bowl seems to keep the water cold for many hours. I'll order another one because obviously you have to put it back in freezer at some point to re-chill so I'll switch them out. But it's worth the money if you pet needs or likes colder water.I got medium and mine is for cats so it holds a lot of water. For a cat it's a big bowl. Would be good size for maybe a small dog. Medium or big dog you'd need a larger bowl probably.

Purchased 2 for wet cat food when we were away for a few days. Left one in freezer along with frozen cat food. Out pet sitter switched out the bowls each day so our cat had fresh food with only one daily visit.

I live where the summer temperatures reach 100 degrees Fahrenheit. I have outside cats. This is a lifesaver for them literally. I do have to replace them every day so I have several bowls. Put a little water at the bottom of the bowls and place them in the freezer. When you take it out of the freezer fill them with water on top of the frozen water and the insulation plus the frozen water will keep it cold all day in the heat. If your temperatures are very hot then a new frozen bowl of water will need to be used daily. It will help keep your animals cooler during hot days.

I like that keep water cold for a couple hours wish did it longer. Nice to use in the summer for my dogs.

Yes, it says 3.5 cup and I should have measured myself. I asked my BF to measure the bowl I already had to see if this was the same size. He said mine was "almost 4 cups" so I figured it was the same. NOPE! This is the same size as one I ordered like 5 years ago and gave away to someone with a smaller dog. This is too small for my husky. The large size is nowhere to be found. So this bowl goes into rotation late in the day when the large one has to go back in the freezer. Other than being too small, it works great to keep his water cold for a long period of time - indoors. I freeze about 1" of water in the bowl which also helps .

I decided to only cool the bowl in the fridge for safety reasons of my cat possibly licking the bowl. The bowl gets very cold even just in the fridge. I find the bowl helpful to keep fresh food cool in case I'm not home to oversee my cat's feeding.

IS this even safe?
