Poor Quality Product
This Electric hot knife did okay with using the tip that is on it straight out of the box. However, you need to loosen the screw on the side to get that tip off and to put on one of the knife tips that come with it. I could not get that screw to loosen at all! I finally tried my cordless drill and the screw stripped. So now I'm stuck with a hot knife that I cannot change tips on. Do not buy this. Spend a little more money and get yourself a better hot knife. This one is not worth it. It does get very hot, but you have no way to control that temperature. So, it is also a burn hazard to you and whatever surface you are working on.

Works great!
I do a lot of 3D printing and this knife is a must have for trimming and cleaning up edges. It works great.

It's not what it says it is...
Purchased this to install some sheet foam in some irregular shaped spaces... This item is simply a wood burner/inexpensive soldering pen with a cheaply made blade holder that will not remain night due to poor design and the use of an aluminum threaded ferrule and steel "Exacto" style blades used together... When it's tight it works well, when it gets hot it gets loose and well, not so much... Worked for what I needed but I already had several soldering irons... Throw away tool essentially...

The blade gets hot...quickly!
Using this to cut polystyrene ceiling tiles. The knife cuts/trims the tiles well. The blades are too short to cut moulding. I cut the moulding a little long (~1/8 inch or less) and then used the blade to trim to fit. Filled the gaps with the adhesive as directed. Looks good.

Well, at least it’s a prong grounded
Having had previously purchased one of these that had a European connection I’m just saying having the standard US plug is a plus. While I have traveling adapters I don’t have the time or patience to look for them and I wouldn’t have wasted additional money. So I got this because I had seen someone cut Tupperware on your tube and I figured, “well maybe this could work for what I want.” Let me tell you. It did. I needed to cut holes in some storage bins to create shelters for community cats. I wasn’t going to use a loud jagged jigsaw—electric or manual. While the instructions were lacking on the booklet I’m glad to see that the visual instructions I actually needed are on here. Although I had done the installation before I came on here. I still have no clue what the piece already attached to it, is for but I’ll probably figure it out. Anywho! These are the shelter home pics I took. Cats are still apprehensive but when aren’t they?
