The only lawn mower we use now
This is actually the second one of these I've bought ...not because anything has happened to the first one, which is still working fine ...but because I don't want to be without one if/when the original does break down.If you live in a climate that is often wet, it can be difficult to get your grass cut with a conventional mower. This machine shouldn't be worked when it's actually raining, because it is an electrical appliance. However, it cuts through wet grass and overgrown grass without getting clogged up. It's very lightweight and easy to steer with one hand. more like a hoover than a lawn mower. (I'm in my mid-70s and have no problem working it.) It also makes short work of any weed or tree seedling that has popped up, and is great for that 'first of the season cut' which can be difficult with an ordinary mower.Unlike many strimmers, it doesn't need to be dunted on the ground periodically to get the string to advance. It does that automatically. That being said, if it's used mostly on grass (and not brush and shrubbery like an ordinary strimmer) so the cord doesn't really wear out at all.We have a large area to be mowed, so we attach an outdoor extension cord. The strimmer head can be detached from the wheel unit and used as a strimmer, but I don't recommend it. The design of the machine makes the strimmer slightly out of balance for that kind of use, and after a short while the arms get quite tired. So I would recommend owning a purpose-built strimmer as well, if you're going to need to trim lots of brush and shrubbery. But if you just need to keep your grass cut all summer long, regardless of the weather, this is the best machine. The one downside is that it's not very height-adjustable. The wheel height can be changed, but not by much. However, it will suit most people's lawns. It doesn't leave the perfect finish that some mowers do, but that's never been important for us. It does a great job for ordinary grass cutting. We don't use our ordinary mower any more.

Good for small garden but cord too short.
Easy to assemble and then to use. Lightweight and easy to maneuver. Easy to switch between strimmer and mower. Ideal for my small patch of garden. The only negative is that the cord is too short so it doesn't reach the end of the garden without an extension.

Perfect addition for our gardening ability.
I dont normally leave feedback as lets face it you must want the item & do your due diligence before buying anyway BUT in this case I have to say the seller is superb to work with, answered my question very quickly & got our order out quicker than advertised. This is greatly appreciated as I am a disabled military veteran & my wife really needed this strimmer with base for our garden !The actual strimmer is perfect for us, not to heavy, great handle positions & it extends more than long enough for either my wife at 5'1'' or myself if I could use it at 6'4'' & still be able to stand up straight. The wheeled base is the main reason we bought this, its awesome, the strimmer fits in with a simple click & is removed by the orange foot pedal & just lifts right out, no fuss, no mess just simple !The strimmer has all its weight taken off when sat in the base, its easy to move back & forwards, lift with the extra handle to move it around a lot & thats it, did the job better than expected & cleans up nicely with a soft brush if needed. The only other thing I can think of is remove from base when storing. If you have physical disabilities, mine is spinal, if you cant life heavy items etc or if your able bodied then this strimmer is ideal for your garden edges & hard to reach areas plus a tiny garden would be fine for this to mow the grass !5* all the way.

Decent Strimmer, poor mower
Although a great concept, in practice it works great as a Strimmer but poor as a mower. The clip on wheels don't allow for a straight or even cut. What is worrying is there is no safety switch on the Strimmer, so it's very easy to start accidentally.

Great for a small lawn
Was a bit put off by some of the negative reviews, but I have a tiny shed and very small lawn (around 10m square) and didn't want a large mower taking up valuable space, so heeded the positive reviews and was glad I did. This does the job great, so if you want a compact machine for a small garden, it really does do the job. Easy to use...I'm not a fan of instructions and was able to figure it out (although instructions are of course provided for the more patient user). Very lightweight and not too noisy. Does spit the clippings out everywhere, so you'll need to sweep up any paved areas after (or like me keep your fingers crossed that the wind will blow them all away for you).

Don't do it, the cost of mowing the lawn will be ridiculous
This seemed perfect for our uses, we have a tiny patch of grass (3m * 2m with a notch out of it for steps) and a smaller shed, so we wanted something that would do the job, be quick and easy to use and wouldn't take up too much space in the shed. This little strimmer/mower happily ticks all of those boxes, easy and quick to get out and put away again, easily fits in our tiny sentry box style shed and does a decent job of keeping the lawn under control."What's the issue then?", I hear you say...The spools, this thing goes through filament like nobodies business. The first time I used it, it stopped cutting before I'd finished my tiny patch of grass, I had a look and the spool was empty."OK, so they put a half empty spool on in the factory to make you buy more, not ideal but not the end of the world." I said to myself and ordered a pack of 3 spools from Amazon for £22.99.Ok, problem solved, cut the grass again today with a full new spool on there, stopped cutting in about the same place, checked the spool ...empty, put another one on and finished off, half empty.Basically the strimmer/mower cost £75 and is now costing us about £16.50 every time we want to mow the lawn. I could get a gardener to come every week and do it for me for less than that. Avoid at all costs, it just isn't worth it!
