Having a 100-series Land Cruiser already, I was surprised that the LC250 doesn't come with hood struts. A lot of people think this is an unnecessary feature and can live with the prop rod, but since we actually use this vehicle for off-roading and air up/down when we do, having the hood struts definitely makes life easier. This is a great product and though the instructions aren't great, it's easy to find them via the QR code, this product page, and even just search for "Land Cruiser 2024 hood strut" on Youtube. The mistake I noticed people make is they assume the included bolt goes into the bold on the fender (I made that same mistake). After looking online, I saw that it goes into the cover clip location and it fits perfectly. The installation took all of 15mins to do and now I can open the hood with one hand.

Does not fit or work on my 2024 FE Landcruiser . Waited too long to send back . Also no instructions but you can search on YouTube to find a video which is not a US 250 LC these parts do not work or fit .

I installed these in 30 minutes. They work fine. One of the struts were all scratched up and the seller is sending me a new one. (Thank you) Things to consider when installing. 1) Orientation of the bracket that is bolted to the hood. Ball joint pointed downwards 2) Location of the fender bracket. You have to remove the white plastic retainer clip and use that hole, NOT the fender bolt next to it. 3) The kit comes with washers. Don't skip these even if it is difficult to slide under the fender to assemble. 4) The brand new gas struts need to be slowly cycled, so slowly close and open your hood after everything is popped in place. 5) Lastly, for those who are OCD, you may need to grind out some of the plastic fender trim to fit it over the new hood strut brackets.

No funciona para Toyota Prado 2025. I need to rectify about this this first comment. The reality is that those two little pistons work well and lift and hold the lid over the motor of my Prado L250 , 2025. The seller was very helpful and sent a couple pictures to show how they should look installed. Using that as a reference, it was very easy to finish the job. Thank you Bella.

This was a 20 minute installation even without instruction provided. The hood/bonnet on the LC250 is very light weight as it’s made from aluminum. These hood struts are not required but are a nice convenience. I gave it 3 stars for two reasons. 1.) No supplied written instructions. I realize things can be found online however instructions would have been convenient. 2.) The lower mounting bracket is different than depicted. It could be redesigned to use a factory fender bolt and not loose one of the retaining clips for the engine bay trim/weatherstrip. Other than that they work well. I will be updating the supplied hardware to stainless steel to avoid possible rust/corrosion. I would pat slightly more to have stainless steel hardware supplied.

There are plenty of pictures and videos just in the Amazon page by itself. The installation is very easy. I spent about a half hour just because I was going slow. If you had done this before, I think it would be a fifteen minute job.

Also to add from my previous comments, no instructions. If you look at the pictures and the video, nothing matches as to where or orientation of the mounting fittings. Even the struts are upside down on some of the pictures.

I don't really understand that an expensive vehicle comes with an old school hood prop. But using his kit made it an easy (and cheap) fix. It has more that enough force to open the hood, which is made of aluminum. It comes with all the hardware needed and installation was easy. I did trim the plastic covers slightly to make everything fit nicely. I kept the hood prop in place as a backup. It took maybe 15 minutes to install. I might consider replacing the nuts and bolts with stainless.

Hardware bag had a hole in it so I thought I lost a bolt but I found it in the trash. Installed and they work great. Another reviewer had a good idea to replace the bolt with a stainless one and I'm going to be doing that as well.

Nice and practical, wondering why the manufacturer didn’t instal it?
