Great and Easy to Use!
Background: I have a shedding dog, so I bought this in hopes that by running it every-day, it would pick up on some of the dog hair on the floor. What I like: -VERY easy to use. -easy to follow instructions -has a sticker on the bottom so if it ever stops and beeps, you can flip it over and it says exactly what the beeps mean (one beep means one thing, two beeps means another--which is SUPER helpful!). -color on top clearly shows what mode it is in (blue-ready to go, orange-needs to charge, red-problem to fix-such as emptying the tray). -very quiet. I can work on stuff with it in the room and it does not bother me at all (my dog also does not mind it). -works great on white carpet and easily transitions from my living room to dining room (which has a slight bump). -when its low on battery, it does not die where it is at, it just turns off the vacuum then finds the home doc and charges itself. -just works really well. I run it everyday and I am impressed by how much stuff it gets (especially when it goes under things such as the couch). -if it gets caught on a cord, it usually takes 5-10 seconds but then it stops the suctioning and moves away (releasing the cord or other item). However if you have a small cord you should put it up (and you should regardless, I just noticed it doing this a few times and thought it was neat, but I do try to pick up all cords). What could be improved: -nothing really in particular to this. -It does not work well on anything black, but this is true for all robot vacuums. It sometimes gets stuck when it goes on the black carpet we have with the black chairs (I suspect because it can not detect them), but this has not happened often. My dog has a black mat for her food and water and it always bumps into it and spills the water, but again, this would occur with any robot vacuum. -Also, make sure the doc is against a wall because otherwise it will move and never charge (self explanatory, but I did not do the first time and it kept trying to doc and was just pushing the doc around the floor). -Finally, you do have to dump out the vacuum particles almost every time you run it (if you do a full circle/battery cycle). It is really easy to dump and beeps when it needs to be emptied. Again, nothing really negative, just something to note. Overall, I really like this! It does a nice job cleaning up the dog hair and other things that get on my floor and saves me a lot of time not vacuuming daily. If you have a dog, I would watch them with this first before you use it. My dog was initially scared of it but sniffed it's "butt" and now they are cool and she does not mind it at all. Pleased with this product and would recommend! :) **UPDATE** On another note, Eufy has amazing customer service! I received an email from them addressing each of my "what could be improved" components with more information on the product. Very impressed.

Does its job well
Fantastic at cleaning. It is an utter work horse so far. That being said it gets stuck on every cord in existence and when it gets stuck it gets really stuck. I have 2 cats and a shepherd, so the fur never ends. The only place I see hair in the whole house is the stairs. It has also been maintenance free aside from swapping the garbage bag and changing water. My previous vaccuum didnt have a station to deposit and it would fill daily and I would have to pull the rollers out and clean with a knife to get them functional again. The mopping function is famtastic and I could never go back. I went from wearing shoes to barefoot. Also based on what others have said. I can see the lack of navigational intelligence which is mildly frustration. However, it is much cheaper than the same vaccuum with those features so its a cost benefit analysis. Setup was very easy and the app is well designed for this vaccuum. It is confusing more because of the complexity of the device than because the ui is poorly designed. As time goes on and if I remember I will update this as I see its long term viability.

Updated 1/28/2020 update 1/17/2020 It's been everything it was advertised to be and more. (Not)
I called Amazon again today. Explained the situation and that no one from Amazon or Eufy had returned my calls as they promised. Also after replacing the battery at my own expense it ran 90 minutes again but got stuck everywhere, made this weird ratcheting type noise every time it changed surfaces and finally today just beeped at me twice and died. Supposedly that indicates a seized brush but they all spin freely. This time I just flat out asked them to look at my Amazon account and replace it, as I'm a very good customer. New one will be here tomorrow. I'll do a separate review on that one as it took me forever to find this one again. I'll also let you know if it's a refurbished unit or not. Well wouldn't you know it. I leave a nice review and a few days later, Murphy's law rears it's ugly head. Device is 3 months old a couple weeks out of the exchange warranty and the battery is shot. Runs 5 or 10 minutes on a full charge. Called Amazon to see if since I am a really long standing customer if they'd help me out. Nope but we'll call Eufy support on your behalf and they will call you. We will also call you to follow up. I've been a customer service manager a lot of years and this is where employees can kill you. This Amazon person made me multiple promises. It's been a week no call from Eufy, no call from Amazon. You just turned 4 stars into 1 and if this is all the longer the batter lasts don't bother because the replacements are $25 to $30 bucks depending on the brand. I'm not spending a hundred bucks a year on batteries and this thing should be under warranty. After 3 days I ordered a new battery and Rosie is running again but I'm no longer pleased and the next time I'll buy another brand. If if this battery doesn't last the whole thing goes in the trash and I buy something else. I run this every day maybe the batteries won't take that I don't know. But if you're going to run it every day buy something else. This didn't last long enough at all. I wanted to wait a while to be sure I had a good sampling and could post a fair and useful review. It's been 90 days now. We have two large (bigger than standard) labradoodle puppies. 85 and 50 pounds and they're 1st generation so they shed a lot. They also, being puppies, have tore the yard up so it is basically a mud pit and they wrestle, run, and fight constantly. They put a lot of dirt and hair on the floors and in the air. We run "Rosie" every day. Yes my wife named it. It does an amazing job on our hardwood floors and throw rugs. It gets all the hair and an incredible amount of dust and dirt. What I mean by that is we can run our Dyson or the Shark Pet vacuum and then run Rosie and the chamber will be full of dust and dirt when she's done. It's almost disconcerting to know our very expensive upright vacuums leave so much behind. It also has the unadvertised ability to buff our hardwood floors. They shine when she's done and the beater brush is showing no signs of damaging the finish on our floors. I would disagree with some of the reviews and even the manufacturers assertion that it doesn't work well on dark floors. Our hardwood floors are a dark reddish brown. The device works great on them and as I said when it's finished they shine. We have agreed we will never be without one and love this device. It does everything it has been advertised to do and more. Also it is set to automatic power and runs longer than the advertised time on a full charge. We get about 2 hours and 15 minutes. We've put down an additional 6 throw rugs for the rainy snow season in the path where the dogs run when they come in and the time has dropped to around 90 to 100 minutes. Still long enough to cover everything well and more than once. It does keep going until it needs a charge it doesn't just run and go back to the dock. I've noticed in the open areas like our living room it might hit that 2 or even 3 times. The floors are like glass after that. Now for the negatives, and these are not deal breakers I'm just being fair. The dirt and dust I referred to is new to us. we recently moved from Illinois to Ohio. In Illinois the dirt is black. Here it is red or a very light brown. The vacuum gets externally dirty. It gets covered with dust/dirt and does not look good. The device is black and the dust is light colored and is readily apparent. I don't want to put it away all the time or for company so thats a problem for me and more cleaning which is not advertised so I'm mentioning it. Secondly it needs to be emptied every use or every other use. They are all like that except some of the super expensive robot vacuums so I wouldn't mention it except for my third negative. It is hard to clean from a mess standpoint. Not so much with the pet hair but with the dust. When you dump it the dust goes everywhere. Unless you have an empty trash can so you can get it way down inside when you're done the garbage can lid and sometimes the floor around the garbage can is clearly dusty from emptying the vacuum. The filters need to be removed at least every other running and they are also a big dusty mess. I also don't believe they will last as long as advertised. I have an air compressor in the garage and a hand held electric air compressor and use those to clean the filter. The foam piece I rinse in the sink. I don't think that someone without access to those tools is going to get the life out of the filters thats advertised. The device comes with a set of replacement filters and the rotating brushes. Not the beater bush though. Our unit is 3 months old. I had to replace the filters at about 40 days and tried to make them last a little longer this time but it hasn't worked out. The outside of the device is filthy. I believe this is due to the filters. The brushes have lasted longer than the suggested replacement time. They are 90 days old and still look like new. Last and has been a rare negative. The device will get stuck under things. Once I learned what the obstacles were in our home it was easy to fix. Some areas I blocked with rolled up moving blankets. I pull the chairs out from under the kitchen table to allow room for it to maneuver. If I don't it gets under there and spends way too much time cleaning and trying to get out. I'd rather it spend less time under there so it can do the whole cleaning area and have power left to do it again. I had the problem spots corrected and figured out within the first 30 days. I've read some units have a tape or something the vacuum will sense and avoid. I wish this unit had that but then again at this price point that is probably an unfair expectation. So those are the pro's and con's we've encountered. The con's are all minor irritants and not a reason not to buy the device as all of these devices are prone to these issues except one or two of the very very expensive units. To repeat what I said earlier this device has worked out so well we have decided that we will never be without one and that when the time comes to replace her we will not feel bad about spending the money for a high dollar unit as it is worth it. Time is worth more to us than money and this thing saves us a great deal of time. It does great job, has done no damage to anything, and if it weren't for the clean up issues would be a five star review. I hope this helps someone make an informed decision and I hope you buy one. It's an amazing little machine, stands up to all the reviews, and truly is the best bang for your buck in robot vacuums.

Not worth it
In the beginning I thought this vacuum was great. The longer I use it the more annoyed I am. At this point I often find myself using my old cannister vacuum or broom and manually mopping despite having a several hundred dollar appliance that is supposedly nearly autonomous in these tasks. Customer service has been mostly useless and often concludes the vacuum is working as it should. If this is the best it is intended to work, that's an issue. Here are the problems I've noticed: 1. Many moving parts on the underside of the robot end up winding up human hair and other debris. In most of these places, it isn't possible to disassemble to the point of easily pulling out the hair. I desire to run the vacuum once weekly for a ~1400 sq ft apartment and at this rate, once or twice a month I need to be picking at the component parts with the tip of a knife to try to wrestle the hair tourniquets off of where its wound up. If I don't do that, the vacuum is incredibly squeaky and loud. 2. Debris accumulates in the base station tray and clogs it up such that base station needs to be cleaned regularly or else the mops stay too wet and do not dry. Again this is a once or twice per month task. Otherwise you could run an entire dry cycle on the mops and still come out with soaking wet mops. Do I remember to check the mops every time to make sure they did indeed dry? No, so then soggy nasty mops sit there for a long time. Kind of defeats the purpose of self washing and drying. 3. Possibly related to the above or not, I really can't tell -- the mops start out too wet and leave little puddles that dry into unsightly water spots on the floor when it first begins mopping. Then it quickly loses all water and seems to be doing basically nothing. Adjusting the frequency of return helps slightly with the second problem but not the first, and I end up passing over with a manual mop every time to clear standing water and eliminate water spot stains. 4. Poor emptying of dustbin resulting in poor suction and accumulation of debris at the site of the base station. Seriously, half the time even on turbo suction this vacuum LEAVES more dust on rugs in its wake than it picks up. I can clean my doormat better with a quick sweep with the broom. When it gets back to the base station to empty, half the time it flings debris out from the base station at high speed and I have to sweep up its mess. Manually emptying the on-board dust bin helps, but isn't supposed to be necessary -- this thing is allegedly self emptying and certainly makes quite enough sound during the emptying phase to have you believe it is emptying the dustbin. Add one more once or twice monthly maintenance requirement that isn't supposed to be needed. 5. Dustbunnies, rather than getting sucked up, attach to various parts of the bottom of the vacuum contributing to other problems described above. As soon as it goes over a rug, the rug pulls all the dustbunnies off, now they are on your rug instead of the wood floor. If the vacuum makes it back to the base station with the dustbunnies attached, now they are clogging up the mop tray. 6. Sometimes cannot figure out how to reseat itself at home base. It finds the base station, then just gets stuck in a loop of rearing up and heading towards it and missing. I have to sometimes out it back to charge manually. All in all, it really needs a lot of attention for what is meant to be a pretty independent machine. Customer service flat out told me the mopping is functioning as expected. Gross, I don't know why you would think any customer wants puddles of water left behind that can damage wood floors or leave unsightly stains, but ok. Only ever offered to send a replacement vacuum if I pack this one up to return. If it's working properly, I don't want a replacement, I want a refund! Let me go back to my old cannister vacuum and hand mop in peace. Maybe the models at higher price points are better without these issue; I wouldn't know. Edited to add, the manufacturer reached out to me and was able to set me up to try out the S1 ad an alternative due to these concerns. I am bumping the review from one star to 2 for the strong customer service. In my opinion, the S1 is a much stronger performing vacuum/mop combo.

Excellent Robot Vacuum, Especially for the Price
I have been an iRobot Roomba buyer since 2007. My last Roomba bit the dust this month, and I did a ton of research before buying a replacement. I went with the Eufy for a few reasons: price point, cleaning power, quietness, and sleek design. Price: Very reasonable. Almost reasonable enough that I'd consider getting another one for my second floor. For now I'll just carry it upstairs. Cleaning power: This thing sucks... It's suction is much stronger than my Roombas have had. It picks up so much dust and pet hair. We do a full vacuum every other week with my Dyson, so I think of the robot vacuum as a supplemental vacuum. I was shocked at how much was in the dustbin after it's inaugural cleaning! The picture attached to this is from that cleaning. It also gets a ton of dust in the little dust filter. In one of the video reviews I watched, the reviewer said it didn't pick up anything in that dust filter... So maybe my carpet is particularly dusty, because it has a thick layer after each cleaning. Quietness: I work from my home office, and this thing is quiet enough that I don't even turn it off during conference calls. This might be the thing I am most impressed with. My last Roomba was LOUD-- you couldn't even have a conversation with someone in the same room, let alone someone on speakerphone. Sleek design: I love/hate this. It definitely looks modern and cool, and more like an art piece than an appliance, but it shows all my finger prints, and now I keep a glasses cleaning cloth nearby so I can rub it down. I suppose if I only use the remote and never pick it up, this won't be an issue. A few considerations: I was hoping to find a robot vacuum that wouldn't eat my carpets' tassels, but I don't think that vacuum exists. I have only used the Eufy 4 times so far, and it doesn't always get its brushes wrapped around the long tassels, but it does sometimes. It seems to realize it sooner than my Roomba did at least. The Roomba would sometimes rip gobs of them off in a single cleaning. I try to tuck them under the edge of the rug and that doesn't seem to bother Eufy. It has pulled off probably 2 tassels so far. The cleaning pattern seems pretty random. I saw some other vacuums that chart out complex maps of your home, and Eufy doesn't seem to do that. But, it doesn't seem to matter, because it still hits every spot in the rooms. I'm a little concerned about durability. My Roombas ran for many, many years with easily replaceable parts. We'll have to see if Eufy has the same longevity. All in all- I'm very happy with my purchase and definitely recommend it!

Delivers decent value for the price
Updated 10/31/25: Tempted to take a star out of the review. So far we have used this robo vac several times and have noticed that it not great at taking out stains from the floor. For reference we have a toddler who spills milk or something else on the floor and it took the robo vac several passes to get it even after increasing the water level on the mopping pads. I guess my original review stands somewhat true - it will keep your floors cleans but after a run, you floors will look clean and mopped but expect to see some spots that you wonder why it not take care of. We have not once mopped the floor manually and having a robo vac do it for us overnight is great. Also, the app has been a finicky as usual- after an update the no go boundary lines i had created shifted a little. ‐-------------------------------------- We decided to buy the Eufy Omni C20 after our iRobot Roomba i3 stopped functioning after 3-4 years of use. And chose this over the renewed omni X10 pro as we did not want to deal with any issues with a pre owned robot vacuum. Eufy has okay build quality, and the app is finicky. You have to be good with tech to play around with the no-go zones and all that on the app. But it is loaded with features like being able to adjust suction and the water quanity used for mopping. It's a double-edged sword. People ask for more control, and when you get it, it quickly gets too complicated. Can't comment on the pickup capacity yet, but it does an okay job at mopping and cleaning and misses spots that should have been cleaned, but you can make up for that by asking it to clean the area mutiple time during the session or running the robot vac more frequently. This robo vac is not as loud as the older one and in my opinion is quite enough. But do nore that you ll hear a loud buzzing noise when the mop pads are being air dried. Overall, I think it's a solid buy for the price and the features that it offers. Would give it a 3.9 out of 5.

Updated: December 2020
Updated: December 28, 2020 -- After owning this product for two years, I am hard pressed to recommend it. As an entry level vac, it's probably not a bad deal. Our first unit was replaced after one year. Another year later and the 2nd one has been nothing but a child. Dies under furniture, can't find it's way home when 24" inches from the base. Constantly needing attention like a crying child for the last 90 days. Eufy said to clean the sensors, which we did to no avail. So in the trash it goes. I don't expect electronics to die like this in such a short period of time. So we decided to upgrade to the Roborock S5Max. We have high hopes for that unit - but at least reviewers have more than 12 months of use out of it. We purchased this unit to replace a old iRobot for a few key reasons... Probably like most buyers of a robovac. - Wanted a set schedule function - check - Wanted it to be quiet - check - Wanted it to stop banging into things - check - Wanted a bigger collection bin - check - Wanted Alexa integration - check... Sorta! But the biggest let down comes with the automation. First of all, Alexa in itself sucks. It's unreliable for true home automation. Any dependencies on Alexa will quickly be dashed to the rocks. So the next step is IFTTT support for home automation. And... NONE... Yep - this device has ZERO home automation support. It's a major let down and the reason why we're looking to replace it with a model that does. Now, rather than waste your time... If home automation isn't that important to you, then purchase the unit. It's a great bang for the buck and why I can give it a 3.5 or 4 star rating. But if you would like... - Clean when I leave the house - Nope - Return to base when I get near the house - nope - Focus on certain rooms per a schedule - nope - Send me a message when starting - nope - Send me a message when done - nope These are SIMPLE requests, yet there is no way to get them done currently. In fact, they don't even need to change the unit itself. If they incorporated IFTTT support, this would be the hands down best thing out there. But that major missing pieces brings light onto it's other short comings and has me searching for another unit. Even if it is at a higher price. And why would I pay more? These things are already pretty expensive, right? Because once you get the happiness of a wife who no longer needs to vacuum the house, it's worth every penny. But when she starts nagging you about it being stuck, or it starts to nag you with relentless beeping - then the price to rid yourself of the nagging is immaterial. Although this unit is quiet, it does make noise. And when you work from home, regardless of where you wander with your calls, it finds you. It's like having a dog in the house that follows you around. And it's distracting when you are on a business call and the thing starts nipping at your feet. So having the ability to have it clean on one side of the house while I sleep or work, and the other when I leave would be great and solve that problem. Next, it's VERY random in how it cleans. Some days one room gets two hours of attention, the next, not so much. Some days it'll never make it to a room. This is not good for the lazy person whose waiting for the maid (robovac) to come clean up the mess left on the carpet. The only way to get that done is to lock it in a room overnight and then recover the dead unit in the AM. And things like that start to take away from the "set it and forget it" benefits of an automated vacuum cleaner. Finally, and no fault of the robovac people. We live in AZ where pest pads are necessary. They are super sticky and designed to stop mice, snakes, lizards, tarantulas, scorpions from any further movement into the house. Occasionally, robovac finds access to one of these pads and gets stuck... very stuck! Depending on how bad the mess is does require purchasing new sweeper parts. Would be nice to geofence those sections of the house. Now they do provide magnetic strips to help with that, but they are black, wide and not very appealing to use... #OCDDillemma Oh... And small carpets, like entry mats, bath mats, etc... This stupid thing only knows forward. If the mat gets bunched up, the robovac beeps relentlessly for help. Would have been smart for the developers to include a "BACK UP" before beeping function. Honestly, as a developer, this is easy. If you're going to run the sequence of code that beeps, then insert a sequence of code just prior that has the thing backup to become unstuck. Simple! And here's one bonus idea... Not sure if any units offer this or not... But it would be nice, actually dang awesome, if when the robovac returns to the base that it would unload itself. This would eliminate the need to attend to it so often to clean out the catcher. Obviously you can have a larger base, and when robovac returns, it could dump its finding into a larger container. This would be really helpful for people who leave on vacation and want the unit to keep cleaning when gone. Overall, it's a really great unit. But these small items could make this a truly extraordinary one.

No manual? Two updates post purchase.
Update 8/24/25 - a lady got back to me from Eufy. I was asking if I could pay to upgrade to the S1 Pro. She did not respond to this request, but told me the S1 and S1 Pro had the same visual front end. So I started looking into it, and the two object avoidance eyes are not only not the same, they are very different. The S1 uses the AI.See optics, while the S1 Pro uses the 3D Matrix Eye, and the Lidar is different. The feedback and response from tech support has been pretty good, but this differentiator is important. So as compared to increasing a star I removed a start, and it has nothing to do with the upgrade request. The vacuum did an amazing job the first time it mopped the kitchen, but subsequent jobs have been streaky, and not anything like the first time. The vacuum has successfully mapped our home, but only does a perimeter sweep in one room, the rest of the rooms the vacuum turns around about 6-8" prior to the edge of the row it is vacuuming. All in all it's a good vacuum with a moderate mop, but we'll keep it. Update 8/20/25 - the company contacted me quickly, and took steps in an attempt to resolve my concerns. Today we noticed a different issue, that of distance measurements, and changing path 4-6" prior to an obstruction. I'm in contact with Eufy again, and based upon their previous replies, I expect a quick reply. I want to take a minute to cover a couple points now that it's been in operation for a week (all positives). This thing is super quiet compared to our expensive Rumba S9+. Yes, when it docks, that is louder than when vacuuming, but the duration is also shorter than the Rumba. It returns to the docking station with more frequency too. We count this as a good thing, because the Rumba would sometimes plug up with debris due to longer times out vacuuming. Mopping is also excellent. The clean out is a different sound, but not annoying. The mop head takes a long time to dry, and aside from getting used to what sound like a low flow computer fan, it is not offensive. If you're on a relative budget, I'd rate it as a strong 80% buy. If you are able to find the S1 Pro for a good price, and cost is not your determining factor, then buy the S1 Pro for the upgraded DME (distance measuring equipment - Lidar). P.s. I'm a 65 year old male and generally maintain our home, phones, and network tech, so performance is critical to me. P.s.s. I will be revising my star rating up after I talk with Eufy again. Original review. I'll start by saying all we've done is unbox it, connect to wifi, and set it up to charge. With that in mind, here are the first 30 minute positives and negatives. Positives - Very well packed. It is a clean design. Built in transformer, so no power brick. It comes with a Cautionary fold out, in 3 languages, but there is nothing about operating it in the fold out. Magnetic cover on the actual robot, with a power on switch under the cover. The QR code on the back of the cleaning station only provides the Model number of the Unit. The QR code under the magnetic robot cover is what you need to connect. Negatives - No information on how to connect. No information on what app to use (although pretty easily determined when searching Eufy in the apps store). No basic manual or documents included in the shipping box - nothing but the caution page. No obvious docking direction (also easily determined by the metal tabs on the back of the bot). The whisker brushes (2) snap onto square posts, so when they wear out, I'm worried about the durability of the posts. The vacuum segment is about 1/2 (I did not measure) of the overall width, while the roller brush is the full width for mopping. Our hope is the whiskers on either side extending the reach, negate the need for a wider vacuum port. A smaller port might actually increase the suction ability? For some background. We are replacing a still working, but brain damaged iRobot Roomba s9+ that we bought in 2021 (still works, but sometimes can't find home, or just gives up). There is a massive difference in the two, and a pretty steep learning curve, although a curve overcome with folks who can set up their own cell phone and work their in-home wifi access. Our iRobot Roomba s9+ was always horribly loud, so I can't imagine this Eufy S1 being louder, although that is a regular complaint (possibly from first timers who have no baseline?). Side note - We have a 160# Olde English Mastiff Female, and a short hair shedder, so any vacuum we have has to do well at dog hair clean up. It is visually appealing, and we don't need the mopping function, except possibly in the tile floor kitchen. Does it have the ability to zone clean and mop only that zone? No idea, since we don't have a manual, but we sure hope so. I'll update after the first cleaning, and see how the mapping goes. Our house is 85% vinyl plank, and the kitchen is ceramic tile, so if this does a proper mapping (with zoning preference, we might be in luck. Will also advise on dog hair.
