A great gift for a HP fan with time on their hands
This is a lovely wooden model of the famous Golden Snitch from Harry Potter. The kit includes several plywood boards which have been laser cut - you push the pieces out from the boards and then assemble them. It takes a few hours to put it together if you take care. No glue is required for this. It can either stand on a shelf, or you can suspend it from a string - when you do the latter, there's a spring inside such that when you pull it down, it recoils and the wings flutter. It's a great gift for a HP fan who likes models and has time on their hands.

A bit harder than some kits.
The 'UGEARS Wooden 3D Puzzles for Adults - Harry Potter Golden Snitch Model Building Kits - 120 Pcs' arrived in a branded box that also contained assembly instructions with pictures. The pieces in this kit seem to be well made and I had little difficulty removing the wooden pieces from the sheets. I did find issues with the cord used to wind the mechanism, first the pictures used to indicate how it is tied need to be much clearer, it took several attempts to tie off on such a small piece with my large hands, secondly the cord itself was a problem in that it is slippery and was unwinding itself and fraying at the ends, which caused the mechanism to jam, necessitating the puzzle to be partially dismantled. Piece 15 that the wings are attached to does not seem to sit correctly in piece 14 as although it has 'stops', one large and one small, to prevent it going too far into piece 16, there is nothing to stop it also going into piece 14 where piece 16 is meant to sit, the cause seems to be due to the smaller of the two stops on piece 15 being narrower than piece 14. When feeding the cord into the mechanism, I felt as though it needed a guide to keep in central. I did find during later stages of assembly that some pieces needed a lot more force to get them into position, but this had to be metered against causing damage, it would be good if the instructions gave guidance to how much force in these places an example being pieces 29, 30, and 31. Although I was able to get the Snitch to flap its wings for a few seconds at a time, I was not able to for the full length of the cord as it kept getting jammed. One idea that did come to mind was that rather than using a cord, I wonder if a wooden winding key could be used instead, it would eliminate any issues a cord can present. Overall, even with the frustration the cord/mechanism caused It was still fun. I would suggest two improvements; spares for the wooden tool as I broke mine, and the addition of a small hard sanding board. I have given this puzzle a 4 star rating due to the issues with the pull cord. If the problem with the winding were resolved it would have certainly have been a 5 star rating.

Ók as a decoration but parts and instructions are terrible
All pieces fit I have lubed and sanded down. the golden snitch doesn't move as instructed from description unfortunately no Matter how I put it together it only works as a display feature, the instructions are terrible and nothing is written that makes any sense of when working with thread. I ended up watching a tutorial on YouTube it was officially ugears and it was very fast to keep up with. Majority of the time I had to pause rewind the video as well as copy from booklet as not everything in video was already built some times it's skipped over.
