Bought for my son, for fun, and because we live out in the country where he has lots of room to explore. I wanted a way to be able to keep in touch with him, that's not a cell phone. So far it's great. It claims to have a little under 2 mile radius (we will see). He went about 1/4 mile, with lots of trees and other interference, and it was still crystal clear. Seems to have a good battery life, very easy to operate. He's only 8 and has it all figured out. He thinks it's the funnest thing ever. Hoping it lasts us a long time.

These have such a long range, it's amazing, and all the cool features! It can hang around your neck, clip to your belt, they have flashlights! And they come in so many different colors! Great gift for many ages and any gender!

The walkie talkies are great! My family uses them for events and fun activities. Multiply channels and sub channels, love the locking function for the kids, long battery, the neck strap as my son is very clumsy. He can't hold something without dropping it. So we made the rule that he must have the strap around his neck for security. Bought 2 for the kids then 2 more because us parents were using them so much My husband and I have 2 kids. We tend to walk around places and events...1 with 1 kid and 1 withthe other, but still all within visual range. These walkie talkies allow us to keep in contact without yelling. We have been going bike riding. 3 on bikes with my husband walking behind. The youngest still needs some ground support here and there for hills and things. With the walkie talkies hanging from our necks we can all hear and communicate about cars and direction easily. Also use these on the playground sometimes. As for distance I've been in 1 car with a receiver at home and it connected a few blocks from the house.

We were really excited with these at first and they worked somewhat okay for my grandsons , but pretty soon one of them stopped working. Maybe they just weren't sturdy enough to be played without in the woods.
