Grandmother's Memories: To Her Grandchild (A Journal of Faith and Love)

I filled this book out for my grandson who recently turned seven and gave it to him on the occasion of his baptism. He and his dad (my son) are reading it together. It was a lot of fun to fill out, and one of the bonuses is that it has sparked questions about the family from my grandson. It provides a simple way to share your faith with your grandchild, and the Kincaid prints are lovely. There are some spaces to place photos, and I added others inside the front and back covers. On the title page, I placed a recent picture of our snaggle-toothed grandson, along with a picture of his dad, his granddad and me at about the same age.I also had a copy of the blank book drop-shipped to his great-grandmother, and she is absolutely delighted with it. I didn't have a problem with questions that didn't exactly fit my family's situations, but just used those as a departure point to indicate the uniqueness of our own family. Yes, with any family history, you are likely to run across some darker memories, but I found that I could dig deeply enough to give my grandson a sense of the times I grew up in and many of the positives. In some instances, it caused me to reflect and put some of the events in perspective. Overall, I recommend the experience of filling out this book and presenting it to a grandchile.

My granddaughter was so so very excited to get the book about my life. She loved reading it and then said it gave her much more insight about me.

This book offers many pages where I could share information from my past heritage and info my grandchild would enjoy about her parents. I could even share my previous memories about her. Wonderful graduation gift

I've bought two different grandmother books previously and I like this one the best because of its quality and organization. Fun questions are asked and helped this Grandma reach back into the recesses of her own mind to pull out some sweet memories. The book inspired writing and is filled with good old fashioned ethics. I'm excited to complete it for one of the families.

Bought this as a gift for an ailing friend.My husband's grandmother filled one out & gave it to him years ago. My husband has treasures his copy, even more so since she passed 3 years agomIncludes information for family history, as well as lots of prompts for grandma to be able to tell her story. Illustrations are beautiful.

I first bought this book years ago when my granddaughter was only 3 years old and I just recently gave it to her for her eighteenth birthday. When she read it, it brought tears to her eyes which in turn, brought tears to my eyes. It took a long time to answer all the questions but the time I put into it was well worth what I got out of it just knowing how much it meant to my granddaughter. It will be something that will always be there for her to remember me by and to remind her of how special she is to me and how much I love her. I just bought this copy so I can fill it out for her younger sister, my other granddaughter. I have 5 years to fill it out before she turns 18.
