How much lint do they produce?

I used them for embroidery projects so I haven’t washed them much, but they don’t seem to be the kind of cotton that produces much lint

Is the material of acceptable quality for embroidery?

I’m not an experienced seamstress but the fabric seems acceptable for such projects. It’s dense enough or maybe I should say the threads are tight enough that embroidery would work well in my opinion.

It sounds like these might not be very soft. Thoughts? Also, are they really absorbent?

They are not super fluffy soft, they are not abrasive either. They are really absorbent. I got my first set of these dish towels 10 years ago and at Christmas just started to replace them with a second set. I would never go back to traditional dish towels again.
