I am so happy I got this. It has made my winter breakups so much easier. Waking up to birds chirping is so peaceful, and the light is just bright enough to get me out of bed but doesn’t shock my eyeballs open. I love using the different colors at night before bed to wind down. Honestly wish I got this sooner, it’s so much better than using your phone alarm!

Amazing technology for the bedside, lots of functionality and very versatile bedside clock and lantern for waking up and going to bed with tons of features and sounds, light effects.

I used the Philips Wake up Light HF3520 (sunrise alarm clock) for 5 years, but both of my clocks eventually malfunctioned in the same way - the light turned off when the alarm sounded (it should have stayed on), and the button to turn the alarm off became unresponsive. The Philips clock has gotten ridiculously expensive at $150 and I've seen the issue I had described on various forums, so it is a common issue. I decided to try the Dreamegg because of the lower price point and attractive fabric cover. Here's some comparison & my experience: - It works as expected, hence I've kept and been using it for the past few months. - The sunrise function works, but between each minute counting down to the alarm the light brightness increases is noticeable. It's not gradual like the Philips. This is the worst aspect I've experienced. The incremental light mechanism feels inferior. - The time/display is only a white color light, and the lowest display brightness level still feels too bright when I've turned the lights off. The red display of the Philips light was not as bright. This is the 2nd negative aspect of the Dreamegg. - It's much lighter and has a flatter/more stable base than the Philips. It stays balanced/upright better. - It only has 1 alarm (unlike the Philips, which let you set up to 2) - There are 3 orange/yellow/gold tone colors which appear more natural. - The fabric cover doesn't feel cheap.

A good, affordable dupe for Hatch. Not difficult to figure out and set up after reading the instructions. I like that you’re able to dim or turn off the clock face because I’m a light sleeper and any noise or brightness will wake me up. The range of ambient sound is great, but the options to set for your sunrise alarm is limited. However, the sunrise alarm sounds are all natural sounds to ease you awake (minus the obligatory beeping sound you can choose if you want to… but why would you? lol). Also, depending which light you choose, the sunrise can be very bright once it’s at max brightness.

I got this as a travel alarm since my daily sunrise alarm was too big to be travel friendly. This did a great job filling in! Actually, the built in sound machine is something I wish my daily alarm had. It definitely comes in handy in noisy hotels. Since I already had a higher end device, this one won't replace it at home. However, if I had purchased this one first I would have been happy with it both at home and traveling. If you are comparing this device with a more expensive one, choose this one. Especially if you aren't sure a light alarm will even work for you. (One thing I love about mine is it doesn't wake up my husband. He doesn't respond to light like I do. I can silently wake up before him without disturbing his sleep. Since I enjoy an hour or so to myself, this is gold.) If you have already had a light alarm and want one that is more advanced, like with an ambient light sensor, then get a more deluxe model. I've got both and they both work.
