Epic, I'm so glad I bough this!
I was a bit wary of this for the price, but so glad I went with this instead of an expensive Arkansas black stone. The stone showed up dark green and matched the first image, this was the color I was hoping for as there are variations in any natural product. The color really doesn't matter in the long run though. It comes with a nice bamboo holder with a non-slip rubber base, and two rubber feet that can be used to hold the stone in place fi used without the bamboo mount, and they also protect the edges of the stone. The stone looks very nice! It's ultra smooth and flat with chamfered edges. This stone is so smooth that an invisible speck feels like a boulder under the knife blade. I was able to get my knife shaving sharp before I even put it to the strop and after it was so sharp I could peel a hair dangling in mid-air. It's scary sharp. I did use honing oil and recommend a light oil or honing oil with stones this fine. The stone feels super hard and should literally last a lifetime.Do beware that this really isn't for sharpening, this is to put a final edge on an already sharp knife. I would probably sharpen to at least a 1200 grit stone before jumping to this stone. Honestly, it's really not something that most people will have any use for, but if you want a super nice stone or really want a crazy sharp knife, this is the stone!

Works fine
The question is it 10,00 grit I highly doubt it, maybe 8000 at best but fine enough to polish a chisel edge. The stone is very thick, hard and will last a lifetime. It was worth the price as a supplimental stone in my collection. Non pouros water or oil will work.

GREAT FOR ITS POLISHING STEEL ROLE
10,000 or something like that grit. Nice polishing stone. Really nice with a wood base. Besides it is just downright pretty to look at.

Ok
This is a pretty good sized stone. Seems to be as advertized. Was packaged well and arrived in a resonable time frame. That being said. One side was used a fair amount. Its scratched up. It seems ok but when you buy something you expect if to be new. Well see how well it works.

Great for sharpening shears and clipper blades
I got this to buy me some time between sharpening appointments for my dog grooming tools. It’s very smooth, but has just enough grit to sharpen up my tools. It’s not great for curves, because the edges aren’t curved or as smooth as would be needed, but it is fantastic for straights and blades that need a quick tune up. Saves me a couple hundred bucks on sharpening, because I usually drop $200 each time I need my stuff done. If your tools are VERY overdue, you may need another stone with more grit as well as this. But it’s heavy and does what I need! Money well spent!
