I have an attic access with a ladder that can be tricky to ascend. I added these grab bars at the top and it is much safer now. When screwed into wood they are very secure. Note that there is a bolt that secures the plate with three screw holes to the bar. Be sure to rotate the plate so that all holes have screwdriver access before tightening the bolt. I didn't do so and had to take it apart.

great no slip grab bar! use 5/32 drill bit 5 inches long tighten the two 3hole mounting plates so long drill bits clear the bar use masking tape to keep chrome covers from sliding off grab bar good luck it's easy and quick with the right drill bit :)

Worked great. Grip well. Installer used different screws holders bought at hardware. Something he does for his customers and to ensure the bars are secure.
