Review of the VIVOHOME Solar Powered Trailer Breakaway Kit
This Trailer Breakaway Kit is a robust solution for ensuring the safety of trailer operations, especially for those who frequently haul loads or travel long distances. This system is designed to automatically engage the trailer's brakes in case it becomes detached from the tow vehicle, a crucial feature for safety on the road. The first thing that stands out about this kit is its thoughtful design. The components are sturdy, and the build quality is commendable. The LiFePO4 (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery provides a reliable source of power, known for its longevity and enhanced safety compared to traditional lead-acid batteries. The solar panel effectively keeps the battery charged, which is a significant advantage, especially for trailers that may sit idle for extended periods. The installation process is straightforward, and provides comprehensive instructions, making it accessible for those who may not be highly experienced with trailer electronics. The wiring system is color-coded, simplifying the connection process. The compact size of the unit allows for easy integration into various trailer setups without occupying excessive space. In terms of performance, the emergency brake system works flawlessly. The brakeaway feature is responsive, ensuring that your trailer comes to a halt if it becomes disconnected from the towing vehicle. The LED test indicator is a handy feature, allowing users to easily check the system's status and battery charge level. This feature can provide peace of mind; particularly for those who undertake long trips. The solar panel is a standout aspect of this system. Its efficiency in charging the LiFePO4 battery even in lower light conditions is impressive. This solar-powered approach eliminates the need for frequent manual charging and reduces maintenance worries, allowing users to focus more on their journey rather than on power management. When considering the price point, this Trailer Breakaway Kit offers excellent value for money. Given the safety features, quality of materials, and the added convenience of solar power, it represents a worthwhile investment for anyone serious about trailer safety.Overall, the VIVOHOME Solar Powered Trailer Breakaway Kit with its innovative combination of a reliable LiFePO4 battery and an efficient solar panel has made a significant mark in the trailer accessory market. Its ease of installation, reliable performance, and emphasis on safety make it a must-have for any trailer owner. Whether you’re towing a small utility trailer or a larger vehicle, this system will enhance both safety and convenience on the road. Highly recommended!

Great not worring about trailer brake battery no being charged
I got this, as I am always concerned that my trailer breakaway battery is not holding a charge, and will not work if needed. This solves that problem by solar charging the battery, and has a charge state indicator on the top so I can see with a push of a button if the battery is up to duty. And it uses a lithium battery, which has three times the life of a sealed lead battery. Also, I was pleased that the breakaway switch is separate from the main unit, so if it gets damaged it can be replaced - I have seen several of these broken over the years. It installed easily; just replacing the old battery and battery box. I was concerned, however, by the statement on their sales page - "Note:This kit is not entirely waterproof, please keep it protected from heavy rainstorms.". How the heck am I supposed to keep the solar panel exposed to charge and keep it out of the rain at the same time? Time will tell if this turns out to be an issue...

No More Dead Breakaway Batteries
I have not installed this yet on my trailer (I have 2 and am deciding which one will get this) but am surprised I've never seen something like it before. Over the years on multiple trailers I have had to buy, install breakaway units that simply die. This unit costs about the same as getting a dealer to install a new battery and I like the sleek look of it, the easy installation (I just have to cut the old one out and replace with this one which is half the size and weight of the one it's replacing) process and that this will work with a single or double axle trailer. These breakaway units are for when the trailer system breaks down and instead of the trailer heading off on it's own, sends an electrical signal to the trailer brakes which close fully to stop the trailer. It's the sort of safety unit you should have on any trailer, no matter the size and you don't need a massive battery to send a charge to the brakes to make them work...so this small unit should do the trick. The construction is good and I'm excited to get this onto one of my trailers.I'll update this if I have any issues, but don't expect I will.
