Shakespeare Micro Series Spinning Reel and Fishing Rod Combo

People have assumed this combo is nothing but a toy. You can't blame them, because this is less than $25. I can tell you the pole is 4.5 feet long, made of a graphite composite with excellent line guides. The cork is high-quality. The reel seat assembly is sturdy and working-grade. The 4-pound line that is already loaded onto the reel is soft and pliable and tough, and not some cheap spare line some makers would normally throw in. The reel is surprisingly smooth. The bail opens and closes smoothly. Crank handle is sized to accommodate adult hands and fingers. Compared to bargain combos from the 1970's, this one would have cost top dollar back then. What this combo is meant for is panfish, like Bluegill, Warmouth, Pumpkinseed, etc. This micro rod & reel makes it an even match between fisherman and fish. Now because this is an ultramicro rod and reel, it is not recommended for small children. Rough handling will break the fishing rod and the reel in a very short span of time. Ultramicro fishing requires delicate presentations of lure, bait, and line.

Recieved the pole broken with no end eye on the pole. The box was not damaged and no eye(broken parts) were in the packaging. Therefore it was placed in the box broken prior to shipping.👎

Used it last weekend for the first time and loved it, works perfectly and casts a country mile, will definitely recommend to friends.

Great fishing package for the price.

I bought this because I wanted an ultralight rod for panfish/trout and assumed with the price that the reel would be pretty cheap and I could just replace it when it broke. 2 months of light use on the weekends and the rod snapped above the first eyelet catching panfish before the reel even broke. Worked great up until that point but disappointed that it didn't last very long

Nice came rigged with 4lb test, perfect for trout rigs and pan fish. I rigged this with a Rooster tail 1/16oz shad spinner. Can't wait to cast to get true feel.

Great combo for bream and small bass.
