I recommend adding it to your daily water supply
I first tried gymnema in liquid form with this brand, and I have to say it's the one I keep coming back to both for the price and the quality. It's alcohol-free, and every Botanic Choice extract I've gotten through Amazon has been high quality.I struggle with insulin resistance, and I first bought this after reading some scientific articles published in non-Western journals. I decided to try it in the hopes of A) learning to control my carbohydrate and sugar cravings and B) helping smooth out the blood glucose roller coaster I'm often on from insulin resistance. I have high insulin caused originally by a medication taken in my teens, which in turn contributed to obesity and... yeah, it's all I can do to stave off type II diabetes now. Anyway, I swear by this stuff (with a healthy diet and plenty of exercise). Here's why:Metformin did NOTHING for my insulin or blood glucose levels. 350mg+ (28 drops) of this stuff daily did. My endocrinologist doesn't buy into it. She thinks it's just diet and exercise. You might not buy into it either, but I swear it helps. Maybe it's all in my head. However, DOES affect your ability to taste sugars (all carbohydrates, not just sucrose) for upwards of a couple hours after you ingest it. I recommend adding it to your daily water supply. The taste grows on you especially in the diluted form. I usually add 7-14 drops to my 16oz water bottle. In that way, I'm sure to get at least my 28 drops dose over the course of the day with my minimal 8 glasses of water. I try to drink more water than 8 glasses as a rule, so that means I often drink extra gymnema. I also think gymnema helps curb appetite generally.I don't find that it changes the flavor or spicy, sour, or salty foods. I think it can make bitter foods a little less bitter, but that may just be me -- and I hate bitter foods. Be aware that if you have digestive issues from metformin, you'll want to give yourself a few days to ease into gymnema. The unbound sugar in your gut can cause some, um, digestive issues. But it passes quickly. Much faster than with Metformin! If you're pre diabetic or insulin resistant, give this a shot with a healthy diet and exercise. Maybe you'll find it helps you too. If you're trying to ease up on sweets cravings, it's also worth a shot. And as for this brand in particular, I've been very happy with their quality. If you're already diabetic, I would urge you to be VERY careful with gymnema. It's a very popular non-Western therapy for diabetes, and they know that it binds competitively with sugar in the gut. This alters your blood glucose. It can help regular blood glucose but if you're already diabetic, monitor yourself closely and talk to your doctor first.I obviously can't claim that gymnema has kept me from getting diabetes. But I really believe it hasn't hurt and I will continue to take it every day. I'm glad that Botanic Choice makes such a nice product that is affordable and easily purchased through Amazon. And, no, I don't work for Botanic Choice, Amazon, or own a gymnema plantation anywhere. ;) This has just been my experience with this product specifically and with this herbal remedy.

Actually works, I’m shocked.
So I’ve tried many ways to kick my sugar addiction and have failed each and every way. I have zero self control and think about sweets all day and have anxiety if I don’t get them. I would say I am highly addicted to sugar. So here I go again trying something to kick this issue before I get diabetes. So I started this and now I’m on day 10 of no sugar. How is this even possible this works on someone this highly addicted to sweets? Also, I’ve never had an herb work for me so now I’m a believer that some herbs do work. I wish I found this years ago. Sugar tastes like cardboard now. The way I take this is I do an entire dropper in a very small amount of water and sip on the drink holding the liquid on my tongue for a few seconds then swalllow it. I know my issue is at the tip of my tongue where I’m having these sugar cravings. Usually drink this when I know I’m about to start craving sugar which is usually after lunch so I drink it with myLunch. I drink it once a day but I have seen information online that mentions liver toxicity if you take too much. To be honest if I feel I need it later in the day I’ll do all the steps but instead of swallowing the liquid I will spit it out so that it kills the sugar craving at the tip of my tongue. Also, any food (not just sweets) that have a bit of sugar in it will taste different since this stuff kills the ability to taste sugar.UPDATE: 3 weeks no sugar. I literally did not think this was possible.

It really works! First experience on 3/19/24
I've been struggling with sweet tooth and I came across this product. I've decided to give this product a try. I placed the drop directly on my tongue and after about 15 minutes I tried to test it by eating a piece of cake. I couldn't eat the cake instead of the cake tasted sweet it had a salty taste in my mouth. Then I tried to eat a tangerine and I couldn't eat it either. This product suppressed the taste for sweets. This product has a bitter taste but I'm used to drinking herbal medicine. So I didn't mind the taste. One recommendation is not to take it on an empty stomach; it made me feel nauseas. Take it after a meal. Overall, it is curbing my sweet tooth cravings.

Does the trick but tastes bad
I already have a prescription medication that leaves a bad taste in my mouth (that makes me want to eat more). This is also an awful taste. Makes me less hungry though. I don’t eat enough when I take it with the recommended dosage, so I played around with taking a bit less. Haven’t hit that sweet spot yet. Still looking for something to balance out the prescription med. I don’t think this is quite it bc I do have to eat a regular amount of food.

Get it if you have a sweet tooth
Great value for the cost, works great. I use it any time I have a really bad sweet tooth. I don’t use it every day, just when I need it. Tastes weird but it’s only for a second lol
