Budget internet radio done right!
I already have one Denon and one Marantz in my home for listening to internet radios and comparing it to those I have been blown away by how good and refined this MangoKit radio is for the price. In short:- FM radio/dab radio reception – Excellent- Internet radio – Very easy search, quick and convenient switching between stations (during the initial setup I was able to quickly find ALL my favourite stations and store them within just a few minutes)- Controls – Extremely intuitive and logical (by far the best I have encountered in this kind of device to date)- Sound quality – Not amazing, but adequate for the price (crucially, the sound is clear and with no distortion at higher volumes; having said that, while the trebles and mids are decent, the bass sounds rather ‘cheap’ and quality of the bass is - in my opinion - the only drawback of this otherwise excellent device)- Build quality and overall feel – Good- Operation via AA batteries – Works very well- Control via OKTIV app on mobile phone – Not needed, but works perfectly, without the need for connection via Bluetooth (it is sufficient for the device and the mobile phone to be on the same wifi network)- Value for money – At £52 simply excellentMy wishlist for a potential future 2nd generation of this product:- When mains powered, to allow either (i) complete turning off of the display when the device is off or (ii) even more dimming of the display, to make the radio more suitable for use on the bedside table, for which it is otherwise perfectly suited- To allow changing of the orange colour on the display to white, which would give the device an even more classy feel- Up the price by another £20-30, while using the incremental money to (i) replace the current lower quality TN display with substandard viewing angles with a more premium IPS display (ii) improve the quality of the speakers (fully appreciate this is meant to be a budget device, but as demonstrated e.g. by amazon echo dots, good sounding speakers don’t need to be necessarily large or expensive)Other thoughts:- I was in the market for a cheap Bluetooth speaker using AA batteries and given the price I thought I would give MangoKit SR20 a go. What I got for the price left me deeply impressed.- Given the favourable price and ease of use, I will be buying another unit for my 77-year-old mother.

Good radio but use of one selection button took time to get used to
Neaty and tidy radio and to my untrained ear it produces good sound. One select button does many things, e.g. on/off, mute, select for source etc. Took some getting used to but I think we have now cracked it. First time we have had a bluetooth radio and its well worth it. All connections were easily made (blue tooth and internet)

Excellent bedroom radio alarm.
Excellent DAB signal, the Internet radio is brilliant, quite a good sound for the size of the speakers and it looks good and goes nicely in my bedroom. It's easy to set up and the build quality is solid. There are more functions than other similar units, so it was worth paying a little bit more for this bedside radio alarm.Very happy with this purchase.

Compact and powerful
I found this digital radio fantastic. As a gift for someone with limited vision it was easy to use and the setup was quite easy too. I could quickly control all their favorite channels. The sound quality is excellent and compared to some other radios very good value for money. The only downside is that in battery mode the battery drains quite quickly however it is good that it also has a plugin option.

Radio
Not easy to set up the preset stations. It keeps overriding already set stations when you try to add more. Sound is okay but annoying controls means I wouldn’t recommend.

Great All-Rounder
Wanted a physically small internet radio for my bedside. This had internet radio, DAB, FM and Podcasts. Size was great. Setting up was very quick and simple. Sound is clear but the small speaker obviously limits the bass response. But all I wanted was a decent radio, not hifi.Saving 16% over Black Friday made this £50 radio an no-brainer. The only small criticism I have is that its backlight is very bright and at night, I’ve had to turn it towards the wall. This means I can’t see the clock. A brightness dimmer would have made this perfect. It is advertised as a ‘kitchen’ radio but then why have two alarms and a sleep function? All in all, a great bit of kit.

Good value
Good value and compact, although not sure if I should have saved towards something a bit more expensive. I do like the design, but I feel the sound quality could be a little better. However, It is great for receiving podcasts and of course, internet radio which is what a wanted it for. (I'm not very up on tech at all, and don't understand the different terms or their functions, but could only connect through WLAN, which I didn't read on the instructions.)

MangoKit Radio
Really good piece of kit - the control button might seem a little fiddly but works well. The Internet Radio is excellent.
