Amazing capabilities for the money
This device did something that I was told only a dealer, or a $1000+ dealer level product would do. I replaced the factory navigation / audio unit in our 2005 CLK500. All went well, with one exception...in the navigation equipped cars, there is no manual way to set the clock in the instrument cluster, as it gets a signal from the GPS, which is no longer there. Searching the net, I found 2 'solutions'...the first was to pull and replace the clock fuse at noon, which is the default time. This works, but it's not entirely convenient, and has to be done at least twice a year, just to keep up with daylight vs. standard time. The other solution was to have the navigation option 'coded out' of the cluster using the Mercedes SDS diagnostic system. This means a trip to the dealership, and whatever they charge (if the would even do it), finding an independent shop with SDS (same issues of cost or willingness), or buy an SDS system...which really means piece together a bunch of bits and pieces to build an SDS clone, as MB doesn't just sell it to anyone. Well, I now know of a 3rd solution, and that's this device. In less than 5 minutes, I was able to tell my car that it no longer had a navigation system, which brings up a 'set time and date' function in the normal vehicle settings menu. It will also allow you to properly code and initialize SAM's...another thing normally reserved for SDS shops or investment. And all this is on top of its very solid ability as a high end diagnostic tool, capable not only of reading and resetting codes, but also the ability to read datastreams, actuate individual components, and so much more. And at this price...wow! I paid almost this much for an Icarsoft unit that only does a fraction of what this unit does. And as if that wasn't enough, this unit is for Mercedes, but via the Launch online mall, you can purchase the ability to work on other manufacturers vehicles.

Awesome scan tool at affordable price!
I was looking for a proper scanner to clear the SRS light after dasboard removal. My car is 1996 Mercedes S320, W140. I first tried icarsoft MB v2 and v3. Neither worked for me, and were not able to reset my SRS light. Some fault codes were incorrectly read. The Launch Creader Elite for Mercedes is a great tool. It came with the OBD-II connector only, so I ordered the complete non-16 pin connector set. I also had to order a 2-line to 3-line 15 pin fm to fm conector cable, to be able to use the 38-pin connector. With that set up, the Launch scanner read 11 fault codes, created report and emailed it to me in a neat, professional format. It was able to clear all fault codes, including the srs light as well! I also used it for a test on the vents and flaps. I love the scanner. I wish they offered a set, that includes the 38-pin connector at affordable price. However, I am now one happy automotive enthusiast. This is an awesome tool!

Works well for GLC SUV.
It connected to wifi and updated all its software. One thing I don't understand is why it updated all other car brands software on it, even it actually only support Benz. Nevertheless, I connected it to GLC OBDII port and it automatically detected VIN and ran diagnosis. It came back with a full list of report with few error codes that I did not even noticed. I cleared the code with this tool. The purpose of purchasing this tool was to allow me to register a new battery. When buying a battery for GLC through dealer cost $500, Costco and Amazon could get same spec battery for less than $200. The difference is the labor and battery registration that requiring a special tool. This tool fits for that purpose. Under Mercedes, then advance search will show all the special functions that including battery registration. Great to have it.

No wifi connection, no use
Looks very professional. To bad I cannot use it. It will not connect to wifi. It requires a connections for updates. Without it , you do not have access to any other features.

Great techstream replacement
Used this obd device to program a key fob for my 2004 tundra. Worked great. The menus are a bit troublesome to get to. Not all options are available, like controlling seat belt warning light. Neither was is on a tech stream program running off a windows 10 laptop running virtual won xp and tech stream. Worth the money and EASY to use with comprehensive info for Toyota and lexus

It does work for the most part.
You will be able to scan for codes and reset them when needed. Tool is very detailed in diagnostics. Only issue is when trying to do calibrations. You can’t enter values not enter values into cells. Making suspension calibration vertically impossible. Also calibrating anything where you need to enter a value. User interface does not have that capability.

A solid and capable scanner for Toyota / Lexus and hate Toyota Techstream
So far, this can do everything techstream can do but faster and easier. Version 2.0 has the same software as version 1.0 but is much faster and can do it's updates wirelessly. It can also send reports via email over the wireless and has an onboard battery which charges from the obd2 port or the usb-c connection. I have already used the product on two Lexus' and cleared some codes that other scanners missed in the history. I have also used it to debug the dreaded B1442 "air mixing dampener" that can occur with a low battery or replacing a battery. I allowed me to use the special functions to do a "Air Mix Door Servo Initialization" and clear the history fixing the issue. I hate using techstream as it's old and slow. This is much faster and just as capable so far. It also comes with a lifetime software updates for the software. While you can purchase support for other makers in the mall, these are not lifetime software and need to be renewed every year. Owning this for one maker like Toyota / Lexus with unlimited free updates is a better deal in my opinion than subscribing to makes with this tool unless you plan on doing this for less than 3 years. If you need to support a bunch of cars in a shop environment, then you really to go scanners that are faster, support all makes and models, and cost $600 or thousands which can expense the yearly subscriptions to keep it current. If you are on the fence for version 2.0 or version 1 of the Launch Creader Elite, get version 2 just for the speed and convenience.
