Why are there so many positive reviews of this book...
All the recipes are strange and I have yet to find one I can tolerate. Lamb burgers, quiche, tofu (why is Tofu apart of low-fodmap meal plan), tapioca flour, feta. Also there are a surprising number of recipes call for cheese. I am desperate here I am down to broiled chicken and potatoes.I am sorry for prattling on but I am in horrible distress and need to find simple recipes that I can tolerate. I have been trying this low fodmap meal plan for 4 weeks now and can not move into introducing new food because I haven't had any relief from my symptoms. I do not recommend this book. If anyone has had success to a Low-fodmap recipe book with simple do-able recipes comment below.

Too complicated
Living alone, I found that the recipes called for way too many ingredients, and frankly, too much work. Would rather have a simple version.

Gives variety and explanation (FODMAP is confusing)!
I use this cookbook more for a “guideline” than actual cooking. The author/dietician is VERY knowledgeable about the subject of FODMAP and has answers to questions and great ideas for food. The only negative in this review is that she is from New Zealand and for Americans we have to do a lot of substituting, transposing, research, and just plain old guessing in order to achieve these recipes. As I said before, this is a GREAT guideline, but I am going to find and purchase an American cookbook. STILL A VERY GOOD BUY !

Am I supposed to throw away 3/4 carrot and zucchini?
All of the recipes are for a family of four. One item has 12 servings. I live alone and am disabled. Most of the recipes cannot be quartered. Even if I was physically and financially able to shop for and set back meals for later - the diet is progressive, so those meals are not repeated later.I purchased this because I have had this diet ordered by my doctor - have no idea how to do it - I needed the menus, grocery list and recipes.Impossible for me - and nowhere in the review does this say, nor did it occur to me - that this is written for family and not individual. Very upset and wish I could get a refund.

Do you reserch ahead of time.
Reading though the several reviews I've noticed that the one star reviews are very negative and have very closed minds to bettering their own health and nutrition. The reviews with the one star must do their own research first before buying a book they don't understand . Talk to nutritionists and your primary doctor first because they are a huge help. I should know since I've had IBS from an early age of 5 and still suffer from this for 39 years. I had not only changed my diet several tim of my life. Because of my problem I changed what I had thought about food and brodend my horizens on what to eat and what to keave alone or change one single unfamiliar item for a familiar one instead of going crazy trying to not eat anything at all. If your one of tge one star reviews try to be open to trying new foods and think these recipes in this book are weird, try them anyway. I am and I am honestly the biggest picky eater alive. All I'm saying is have an opem mind and don't shut out the unknown. This is after all your choice but at least give this book a chance before giving up and selling it.

The must have book for IBS
If you have IBS then you have to get this book, I have already done the 2 week elimination course with Suzanne, which by the way literally saved my quality of life, and now that her new book is out it is so handy to refer back to, as we all do stray at times. I have made several of her recipes and they are all so yummy even my husband who is a meat and 3 veg man, loves them. Thanks for all the time and effort you put into this book to make our lives worth living.

No more IBS distress!
A life changer! Once I began reading this, I could not put it down! Great explanation of IBS and FODMAPs and which foods contain them. I am certain that it will be as helpful to others suffering with symptoms as it was for me. Very well-written and most importantly easy to understand and to implement the plan. This information has greatly improved the quality of my life!

The cure for ibs, and other problems!
I’ve been having mysterious health problems for a year and a half, and I’m only 31. Reading this book has helped me realize that all of these problems are tied to my IBS. Within less than a week of starting this plan I have felt better than I have in all this time and I’m so excited by it!!PROSthis book explains more than a low fodmap diet, it explains how ibs affects all things and it walks you through weekly prompts to improve your sleep, stressors, physical activity, relationships and general well being! One of the things I’ve seen the most improvement from is eating every 3 hours religiously. It’s really made a huge difference!CONSI haven’t tried all of the recipes, but definitely have had some I really didn’t like. But, all in all, she gives you the opportunity to not have to follow her meal suggestion and instead make your own. Another con is that this isn’t the most in depth fodmap book. I had done a lot of research on the fodmap diet prior to getting this book and I feel like while it gives a scientific explanation of what each of the letters stand for in FODMAP it doesn’t go into as much detail about what that really means but instead suggest buying another book to use as a reference. I use the MONASH food app to supplement some of the lack of information. But, as a positive, I’d say she doesn’t go into it as much but instead explains the nature of ibs (very important to understand) and she lays out meal plans for you. So, in that regard it’s not as important to understand the ins and outs of what foods may be high in fodmaps but instead just follow the plan she has and you’ll find success.OVERALL THOUGHTSthis book is worth it. It really helps you understand everything simply and walks you through the whole process. However if you find you want a more tailored approach, I do believe the author offers 6 week coaching with a customized meal plan.

Meh.... feel disappointed in it.
It’s alright. Not overly excited about the recipes and they are rather American, not even changed the zucchini to courgette for example. I noticed that a number of the recipes feel like snacks, not meals. And a few reference how great they are for quick and easy prep when people drop by for drinks.... Not top of my concern list when trying to eat low fodmap. Much prefer the Lucy Whigham book for go to recipes.

This book 'does what it says on the tin'.
...or lives up to its name. Some delicious recipes and exciting menus. Supporting advice excellent. For me though if you need low sugar you will find you will need to adapt many of these recipes as they use white sugar. Good guidebook to navigate FOD dietary change.

Ideal book for people who need to follow a low FODMAP diet.
I used this book because I have had to see a dietician due to suffering with irritable bowel syndrome she advised that I try a low FODMAP diet for a restricted period of time. I thought the book would give me some meal ideas which it has as the diet can be complicated. Would recommend.

it is ok but not great
None of the low fod map books are very creative. Are they written by cooks I wonder?
