Genuine Stanley tool - winner on all counts - price, quality, make and performance
Not all Stanley tools are the same when it comes to quality and finish, though the brand is certainly deserving of its great rating. Coming to this mallet, I ordered it to use with a set of standard Stanley wood-carving chisels I'd bought earlier. Having used it for a few times, I can confidently add that the experience of using the mallet is rewarding! * The head is tough as it is supposed to be, yet has minimal 'recoil' or bounce-back . * The handle has the head moulded on and that ensures safety with almost no chance of it coming apart or flying off. * The wooden handle is machine cut with a fine smooth finish, making the grip absolutely perfect for maneuvering and hammering both. * Mallet's head is shaped well enough to deliver perfect hammering force * Being tough rubber, unlike harder materials such as ones on hammers, it has least chances of damaging surfaces. Caution is advisable against using the mallet as a hammer to use with nails and such. Definitely an essential DIY tool!

Rubber breaks away
The rubber is too solid, hence brittle. It chips with off-angle impacts on hard surfaces.

I like the Hammers with Rubber Heads because they can be used to fix surfaces together without damaging or scratching them. This one is very robust and does what its supposed to do.
