Must have for home mechanics.
I have 3 versions of the software on mine. 10.29 10.30 and 11.xx i had to use the older 10.29 to clear an airbag fault but other than that it is awesome. The obd2 stuff works on any obd2 car. I have used it to diagnose the fuel cap and the accelerator pedal in a Chevy. Of course i use the obd2 stuff on the Porsche and the extra stuff that is specifically for a Porsche like the headlight position, the airbag, Tiptronic transmission, the transfer case and a lot more. I have actually only used the specific Porsche program to work on the airbag and the reset the service light. It is well worth this cost. You have to have a Windows computer to update the system on their website but really dont see the need to update it. This is essential for anyone that likes to do their own wrenching. Easy to use, packed full of features, and great price. I dont see how anyone can rate it lower than 5 stars. I dont want to sound mean or smug but I have to think they do not know how to use it or maybe they thought it was to tune the engine like they see on the movies. It shows real time readings from every engine sensor you could want and more. Even shows they last time the DTC light was reset so it is essential when buying a used car. In short it does reading and reset of obd2 engine DTC on any obd2 car and does all the extra stuff like airbag, transmission, instrument gauges, and everything else on Porsches.

Reset service light and airbag warning
I used this on my 2008 Boxster RS 60 Spyder. I have misplaced my Durametric module during a recent move. I love how this code reader is free standing and just plugs in without a laptop. The menus are a little confusing and the manual is not the best. I literally just bought it because I needed to reset my service light. It did not take very long to figure that out and I finally got rid of the annoying reminder popup. That in itself paid for this reader. About a week ago I had a mishap with my car, i was working on it and did not disconnect the battery, too my big disgust I drained the battery. All kinds of error messages flashed up, most of them disappeared after jumping the car and driving a while. The one that did not go away was the airbag light. I kept scratching my head and finally remembered I hade this code reader in my front trunk. I could not find a specific menu to reset airbag warning, but made my way manually through all the module error codes and deleted all error codes caused by low voltage. I read several horror stories in Porsche forums about people unable to do this without a trip to a dealership and a price tag of several hundred dollars. This little code reader from now on always travels with me in the car. I don't have a cd changer so I put this in that location and I will not loose it.Operation and menus can be confusing (only 2-3 stars here). Pricing value is awesome 5/5, outcomes for me were phenomenal. I am four hours away from closest factory dealer, resting the codes would have cost me big time.

NO SUPPORT????
I purchased my first iCarsoft from Amazon a few years ago and it worked great on my 2013 Porsche Cayenne to reset the oil service light. However, I missplaced this scanner and have looked everywhere for it. So, I purchased a second iCarsoft scanner from Amazon. I opened the box and the unit looked brand new, however there were some red flags. I noticed that the crystal gel packs were not in the usual place. The micro SD card was already inserted inside of the unit. A little odd. The final blow was when the scanner simply would not turn on after I plugged it in and followed all of the instructions. Like I said I've used this type of scanner before so I know how to use it. Tried several times to repeat the procedure but no luck. I then tried to contact iCarsoft, no luck there for support. So, I am returning this unit and eventually buying another from Amazon. Hopefully the new unit works as good as my lost one.

How to reset service intervals on a Porsche
This works as a normal diagnostic tool and will read fault codes generated by the OBD (on board diagnostic) system, but that is probably not why you are looking at this. Other OBD readers will do that. This can reset service intervals. If you change your own oil, for example, the car doesn't know you've changed the oil until you tell it. Some cars have some menu somewhere that you can activate. Others have some elaborate procedures (turn the key off and on, open and close the door three times with the gas floored while singing the nation anthem or Germany). Newer Porsches require a dedicated tool that communicates with the car computer. This tool will do that. You can reset the Oil change or the Service Interval notifications. This also helps if the shop forgets to reset the notification after performing said maintenance, though I wouldn't buy one of these just for that.NOTE: RESETTING THE LIGHTS WITHOUT DOING THE MAINTENANCE IS NOT SMART. It is a good way to rack up an expensive repair. The firmware upgrade process could be better documented., but it isn't the end of the world for someone technically minded.

Works on '10 911 & '17 Macan, but not battery registration
I've owned this product for 2.5 years and it has been great at the DTC stuff and oil lamp resets for both my 2010 Porsche 911 and 2017 Macan S. It was also great for the brake job on the Macan. Where it falls short is the needed function for registering a new battery on the Macan (not needed on the 2010 911 due to age). One might be advised to get the POR V2.0 for the added battery feature.

Worth the money
I purchased this for my 2012 Boxster 987.2 Black edition to clear my service reminder (oil service) and air bag light which appeared after replacing my battery. The air bag was straight forward to clear, however, I was a little hesitant to clear the service reminder as it wasn’t clear after seeing the message rest software. I decided to do a little research on reinnlist and someone post a very nice tutorial which gave me reassurance to proceed. And It worked. I’m very pleased with basic resetting of faults. No connection issues, no need to update software, it came loaded with the latest version 11.4.

Great Value
Just one diagnostic of a cam position sensor and a Lmbda sensor is enough for me to had the value from this. I was able to diagnose and then replace the parts on my old 911 cheaper and more importantley faster than my local indepent specialist could do.

Top Notch Diagnostic Tool. Highly Recommended.
Brought my 2011 Cayenne to have the alloy wheels refurbished and tyres replaced. When picked up there were a string of error codes on the dashboard. Can't blame the alloy wheel guys as not there fault so did not bother going back in to discuss with them and just drove home wondering what to do.Dashboard showing PSM, parking brake and ABS faults. Looked up the errors on Google, pointed towards an ABS/ speed sensor fault. No error with car prior to the wheels being removed so thought needed to take car to garage for them to reset error codes. Didn't really want to take it to a garage for them to charge me to do this so looked on Google to see reviews on a scanner tool.Decided on this scanner. Got item a couple of days ago and proceeded to update prior to use but realised I needed a card reader to do this so bought one on Amazon for just over £4 and got delivered yesterday. Transferred the updated sd card into the scanner this morning and used it on my car. Was showing a speed sensor fault on the rear wheel. At least I thought I can buy the sensor cheaper than the garage would charge me to diagnose and source the part. Before buying the sensor used the unit to clear the error codes. I thought if the issue is still there after cleared the error message would reappear and I could then go down the route of buying the sensor then. I cleared the error code, faults cleared. Drove 50 miles still no errors. Obviously removing and replacing the wheels caused the system to have a bit of a hissy fit. looks like clearing the codes has resolved the issue. Found some really useful Porsche specific features. Can't recommend highly enough. Has already paid for itself after the 1st use. Free updates unlike someother manufacturers too. Unsure, they may have more features but this unit has done everything I needed from it. Top notch.Update - Errors came back again. Replaced single rear left speed/ABS sensor as pin-pointed by the scanner.Error has now gone away. Porsche advise both speed sensors on rear axle need to be replaced at a cost of £138 each plus VAT plus fitting. Bought one single sensor for under £20 and fitted easily myself and errors went away even without having to clear the error again using the scanner. Advised by a Porsche specialist it's possible all 4 sensors needed to be replaced at one point so it just shows it's worth doing the work yourself and save a fortune when armed with this tool.
