This book is an eye opener of what someone in an abusive relationship goes through continuously. The sad thing is family and friends sometimes never know what is going on behind closed doors. This book is upsetting to read but needs to read and shared with others. Years of abuse took their toll on Sandra and her boys but God’s love can bring you through the ashes. It is a book that you will think about every time you hear of domestic abuse.

I picked it up and read it straight through. I spent some time absorbing what I had read, and I do believe it is more fact than fiction. I was comforted by the ending.

Not something I would pass on to another reader due to graphic details. Not my usual genre of reading.
