This pen is built like a tank. I have carried this model pen since 2011 and bought this just in case I loose my original. My old one looks just as good in as the new one.Has enough weight to let you know it’s durable, but easy to write with for extended periods. I have tried countless pens Ranging in price from around $1000 down to giveaways and this is my everyday carry.I don’t have worry about loosing it because I like it so much I don’t let it leave my site.

i've been using a zebra f-701 for some time now and really enjoy it. a good heft but not fatiguing, doesn't slip out of my hand, never had any problems with the ink, and i just like the way it looks. i even bought a few extras a year or so later just in case i lost the pen. i got curious once and took it apart and noticed there are some plastic parts in what i assumed was a fully metal pen. when i found out the f-xmd replaced those parts with metal, i had to try it. upon receiving it, it didn't feel much heavier and looks almost identical to the most recent f-701s i had purchased. only obvious difference is the model name on the clip. it would be awesome if the 701 was converted to fully metal construction like the xmd, since it is much easier to find 701s.overall i am very pleased with the f-xmd, would recommend it for a general use pen to always carry, and would certainly purchase again.

The Zebra F-xMD is a fantastic pen I have been using for a while now. It is a very smooth writing pen that feels great in my hand. The ink is dark and doesn't smudge or smear easily, making it perfect for left-handed writers like myself. The pen has a sturdy and comfortable grip that allows me to write for hours without experiencing hand fatigue. The retractable mechanism works flawlessly, and the clip is strong enough to hold the pen securely in my pocket. I highly recommend the Zebra F-xMD to anyone looking for a high-quality pen that writes like a dream.

Well I am a huge fan of the Fisher Space pens and prefer the bullet style. Also being a fan of Rite-in-the Rain notebooks for my EDC, I was looking for a more full-size pen to use for my pocket organizer. Even though Fisher has some full-sized pens, they have lost their minds on the prices they charge for them. Then I stumbled across this Zebra pen. All metal construction and very well built. I like the crosshatching on the bottom of the pen that makes it easier to hold onto while writing. I did not use the ink that came with the pen, so I can't honestly speak of its quality. I did the "Fisher Refill hack" and inserted my favorite Blue Fisher cartridge. I do prefer popping the rubber collar out of the pen tip and inserting the cartridge. It does have a nice weight to it but I could really go a little heavier, the pen click feels sturdy but I do believe the pocket clip is flimsy and could bend or snap easily. I am being stingy with more than 4 stars because of those few bits but overall a well made pen.

I ordered this pen and the Fisher refill. I replaced the ink cartridge with the Fisher refill as I love writing with black bold ink. They work perfectly together and there were no issues (no adaptations needed as the refill fit easily). Together they make a great EDC (Every Day Carry) Pen! By pairing them together for approximately $20 I was able to find exactly what I needed, a great sturdy and easily gripped pen with great ink! See attached picture for how it looks with the Fisher refill.
