Q: Are these too hot for hiking in the summer (100°F)?

I wear these boots on a farm with ordinary thickness socks in temperatures not quite 100 degrees F and have never had an issue. I have never actually "hiked" in them, but have spent hours walking and crouching so wouldn't imagine they would be too hot.

Q: Do these accommodate custom orthotics? Whereas the bottom insole is removable so custom insole/orthotic may be inserted. Thank you.

I build custom orthotics. The boot can handle an orthotic that is the same thickness as the insole you remove. Any thicker in the toe or heel would make the boot too tight. You can have a higher arch in the orthosis, but remember that a higher arch raises your foot and it might make the boot tighter. I always get boots 1/2 size up and a size wider to accommodate my orthotics. It only adds 1/4 " to the shoe and is so much more comfortable.

Q: Are these boots warm for winter?

They do not have any fuzzy lining or Thinsulate for warmth. I do not find them warm enough for winter even with padded wool socks . When wearing them my toes get cold when temperature drops into the 30's.Even the 40's. My feet do get cold pretty easily so they might work for you if yours do not.They are wonderful,comfortable boots but not for the coldest winter days..

Q: What is the insulation rating?

I don't what the insulation rating is for these but my feet are warm every time I wear them. You could wear an extra pair of socks and I think they would be very warm.
