I love my “New Yes” pen. There are times it doesn’t sync right, but it’s an amazing and fun tool to have.

The concept is great, but the pen keeps disconnecting, thus you start writing in the notebook and realize that it is not connected to the phone, you have to rewrite what you just wrote if you want it to upload.

I always wanted a writing tablet like this one. It comes with two pens, one that can be used on traditional paper like a regular pen and then the other one you can doodle on the included bluetooth pad. The NewYes app was easy to download and it was easy to use and figure out.

The media could not be loaded. You download the NewYes note application, connect the OCR pen to your phone via Bluetooth and it’s ready to use.The OCR pen comes with both traditional ink cartridges and a stylus tip. It’s very easy to switch between the two. The OCR works just as reliably whether transcribing from the paper notebook or the tablet surface.We tested it with both my husband’s block script and my cursive writing. It transcribed both perfectly. It did not like my husband’s cursive, but I couldn’t read it either. It copied my husband’s drawing in real time, exactly as he drew it.Using the paper notebook is no different than writing on a traditional pad or piece of paper.The tablet works just as well as writing on paper. Pros:* Light weight* Works as well as writing on paper* Allows formatting with different ink colors and line thickness* Clearly presents exactly what’s written or drawn, even bad penmanship.Con: The tablet surface is black with no back lighting - it is basically a mat finish. Because of that, it may be difficult to use in a darker room such as when taking notes during a presentation.Overall, this is a decent tool that wasn’t a bad price point.

Don't waste your money

It worked as advertised but the pen was extremely uncomfortable for me for long term use.

It works perfectly with my block script and my cursive writing, though it had a bit of trouble with my husband’s cursive (but even I couldn’t read that!). It even transcribed my husband’s drawings in real-time, capturing every detail as he sketched.The tablet surface feels just like writing on paper, which is a huge plus. You can also format your notes with different ink colors and line thickness, which adds a nice touch of customization. The pen captures everything clearly, even with less-than-perfect handwriting.One downside is that the tablet surface is matte and black without any backlighting, which can make it a bit tricky to use in dimly lit rooms. But other than that, it’s a great tool for both traditional and digital note-taking.Overall, I really enjoy using this pen and tablet combo. The ability to switch between paper and tablet is convenient, and it’s lightweight and easy to carry around. It’s especially useful for those who want a digital backup of their notes and drawings. Highly recommend for students, professionals, or anyone who loves to take notes or sketch on the go!

I wasn't sure what to expect but this is some impressive tech.One of the very interesting things was when I was using the app with the notebook, I noticed it could tell when I flipped the pages, which boggled my mind for a second, until I realized it is using a camera.Now, what is this camera doing exactly, what clarity can it see in, etc., I don't know. Part of me wishes they would allow access to the camera through the app so I could see what they can see. It is a bit sus.If you can get over all that, the technology works exactly as it is stated. The LED board is what I've been using the most and for just quick sketches and ideas at my desk, I like it. I would say I almost just like the LED board and probably could have gotten one of those for a lot less money lol as not a lot of my notes are really worth keeping.They deliver on all the stated features so that's why this is five stars.
