Q: How do these work if you have no carpets? Will they move around or do they still properly on the painted metal floor of a CJ-7 without moving around?

They will work fine. They are by far the best fitted floor mats I’ve ever owned. They fit good enough that I didn’t put the carpet anchors down. They are heavy duty and I feel certain will outlast me

Q: Will this fit a 79 CJ and does it come with both drive and passenger side? What are the options for the back seat?

It fit my 83 cj7 great came with drivers and passenger side.

They fit my 92 like a glove. I've been swapping parts from 93 models for my 92, I don't see why these wouldn't fit yours same as mine.

Jack, they fit perfectly over aftermarket carpet in a '77 CJ7. I like these mats a lot. Give them a shot.
